custom built residence on 2 1/2 acres (1 hectare) Private Gated Estate

within a private gated Community, in Colony Olivenhain, on the border

of Rancho Sante Fe.

Luscious landscaped entry, 40 tree Orchard, grey cobblestone driveway.

Marble entry way, Gourmet Kitchen (6 burner Viking Stove, 2 ovens, 2 dishwashers, SubZero refridgerator/freezer, Center Island with sink and compactor, high ceilings, light and bright family room (off kitchen), fireplace with firewood stacked on property.

Living room/Dining room 6 - 8 to dine privately, wonderful Baby Grand Piano (plays itself) and Yamaha Piano Synthesizer (also plays itself). 

Master Suite - gas fireplace, elliptical trainer, marble bathroom 2 sinks, toilet, 2 Person Shower (2 shower heads), jacuzzi bath tub, crown molding, high ceilings and a private entrance to pool. 

Upstairs are 3 bedrooms. One bedroom has a private bathroom and shower. The other two bedrooms have private vanities with sinks and share a Jack and Jill bathroom with a bath tub/shower and toilet. There is an additional loft area (almost like a den). The Loft has a balcony that overlooks the Family Room and the Kitchen. The couch opens onto the floor (very solid and comfortable) and sleeps two.

There is internet throughout the entire home, an intercom system both indoors and out for paging and music as well as a CD Stereo that plays both in the den and backyard, Cable TV for more free movie choices. We also have DVD's available for use (mostly adult and young adult) and cards and games for children in the den desk.

Backyard - Great Views, tables, chairs, umbrellas, grassy areas, a large gas barbecue grill, oversized Pool with colorful fiber optic lighting in the pool at night, Jacuzzi that seats 8, outside speakers, intercom and security system (that no one uses, because it is an extremely safe area).

Horseback riding/hiking trails passing in front of the estate. Ranches and Stables in walking distance. Old Historical Olivenhain Meeting Hall built in 1885 is quaint and has many fun events throughout the year.

Depending on what you pay, this can be either a hosted or a 'no host' vacation.  Our son Wayne lives in a room on the 1st floor and is there to oversee the gated dogs, pool man and gardener. A 'Hosted' stay with him there entitles you to a 1 hour FREE California Wine and Cheese Night or he can come back and forth daily to feed the dogs (in their own separate area but you do forfeit your fabulous California Wine and Cheese night. I will say, that we have gotten letter after letter from renters who enjoyed conversations with my entrepreneurial son, information, assistance he has given and from time to time magic shows that he has put on for the children.  He is trustworthy.  

Adding guests beyond what we contract is an additional fee as well.

We are a short 15 minute drive from the beach. Lots of sunshine. We see the ocean EVERY day, as many of the stores and restaurants you go to are on a road that runs next to the ocean.

Encinitas is a very quaint village, with really interesting funky beach shops, lots of shopping, restaurants, sidewalk cafes and people watching. It's a beach town that is really hopping all year round.

Close to Del Mar, Carlsbad, La Jolla, Cardif-by-the-Sea, Leucadia and Downtown San Diego - Museums, Galleries, Golfing, Biking, Surfing, Boating, (Mission Bay, Old Town (great Mexican Food), Pacific Beach and San Clemete are just a half hour away).

This area is THE PLACE where people come to vacation. It is 45 minutes from Mexico (not recommended to go to these days for health reasons), 2 hours from Los Angeles all by car. We are also 45 minutes from Temecula's Vineyards and  'Tasting Rooms'.  During the summer months, there rae also Dinner with live  Jazz events. Ophellia Vineyards, an award wining winery, is only 40 minutes from the Estate.  Several Local Outdoor Farmers Markets with fresh vegetables, fruits & flowers.

Wine Tastings, Fine, Casual and Fun Dining, Shopping. Mountain Trails, Golf, Jogging, Walking, Hand Gliding, Roller Blading, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Wind Surfing, Kite Flying, Tennis, Skiing.

Other attractions within a short drive include LegoLand, Wild Animal Park, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Downtown San Diego, Seaport Village, the Convention Center, The San Diego International Airport, and Gaslamp Quarter. About an hour away is Laguna Beach with fabulous dining and shopping, South Coast Plaza with incredible discounts on designer clothing, Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, the Queen Mary. Also within a drive or short train trip is Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Universal Studios. Dining and Shopping Nearby, Galleries and Museums.

Real Estate Brokers have come to see the Estate and says its' value is $1,000 per night (if they took it as a vacation rental listing).

If you opt for a 'hosted' stay, with our son Wayne using his room downstairs and staying on property to maintain and supervise the dogs, gardener and pool man, you enjoy a 'Happy Hour' (1 hour) California Wine and Cheese evening for FREE.  It's a nice start to an evening out.

If you do not take the entire Estate: Pick either the 3 bedrooms and Loft Upstairs to the right of the entryway (sleeps 8-10), or (to the left of the entry way downstairs) the Master Suite (sleeps 2).

3 Bedrooms + Sleeping Loft (Sleeps 8 adults + 2 children or 6 adults + 4 children) for a total of 10 (with Couch Bed and Air Mattress in the loft).
