Date Weekend!

Review submitted: June 26, 2014   Date of arrival: June 20, 2014

Working with Monica was a pleasure and the home is an oasis. Location was perfect, the view was a dream, and the fact that there was only one other house on the road was sooo peaceful. It was especially nice that when we got groceries I didn't have to by herbs and spices or non-stick spray. Everything you need is there. We will be back!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Wow Ginger thank you so much for your incredible review! We're so glad you chose us and we look forward to your return to the mountains! :o)

First Class in Southern Appalachia

Review submitted: June 16, 2014   Date of arrival: May 30, 2014

Bella Vista is simply the nicest vacation home my family and I have experienced. From the perfectly stocked kitchen and pantry to the luxurious linens, Monica's attention to detail is apparent. The house was spotless upon our arrival, with an abundance of freshly laundered towels, robes, and linens. The house itself is lovely, and well situated with a view that stops you in your tracks. I can't think of a better spot to have watched 400 million years of geology and history in action ... In other words, like other spots in Appalachia, Bella Vista's view seems timeless, except that it changes with every variation in light and temperature throughout the day. And at night the low light pollution means that there are thousands of stars in the sky. We could've spent our entire trip on Monica's deck.

The property is well cared for, and the location is convenient to the lake, groceries (Bacchus Wine Shoppe - Hiawassee is a beer and wine only town, so bring your own spirits) and the various hikes and 4WD climbs that the area offers.

We traveled with our 4 year old boy, and while we never bothered to turn on the TV, he was well occupied with the lake, the birds, and a handful of Hot Wheels cars, so any parents should feel confident that Bella Vista is for families of a certain type anyway.

While you won't find a huge TV or an air hockey table at Bella Vista, you will find a home away from home, as well as the best of what our portion of Appalachia offers: mountains, mountains erupting from the lake, tons of water splashing its way to lower ground, a bald eagle or two, and extremely hospitable locals.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway

Owners response: Jodie and Mark,
Thank you so much for your glowing review of Bella Vista! We're so glad you and Titus enjoyed your stay. I am amazed that the TV never went on! Titus must be an extraordinary child to be able to keep himself occupied in such a serene setting without any electronics! That's impressive! We so appreciate you caring for our home so well too - that means a lot. Thanks again and we look forward to having you back!

Girls Getaway was Great!

Review submitted: April 23, 2014   Date of arrival: September 20, 2013

I've been remiss in writing this review but I had such a great time on my girls weekend at Bella Vista, it's been on my To Do list forever and I just couldn't let it slide.

My girlfriends and I came from all over the country and decompressed for a few days - truly a perfect weekend. So relaxing and stress free - I don't think there was anything any of us wanted that we didn't have. From the immaculate kitchen to the beautifully appointed rooms, there was nothing that we had to do but unpack and open the wine we brought. :-)

The layout really lent itself to connecting - we'd congregate in the morning and evening around the great table for eating, drinking and jigsaw puzzling, but there were also times we'd chat in smaller groups in the chairs, in the loft, at the counter or on the patio. I don't think I can say anything about the views that hasn't been said before - so lovely and literally right in your backyard.

I'd highly recommend Bella Vista - part of what makes a great vacation is NOT having to do things and we didn't have to do a thing while we were there. Monica and Ed, thank you so much for your hospitality and attention to detail - really a wonderful trip.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway

Owners response: Thank you for such a terrific (and thorough) review! We are glad you had such a lovely time on your "girls getaway!" When relaxing is the goal, our guests always seem to achieve it! :o) Thanks again!
