Sit on the deck of this wonderfully situated cottage and look out over the Great Harbor of Mount
Desert to the mountains of Acadia National Park. Or walk 30 yards across our field to the shore,
where you will find a wide beach framed by massive ledges replete with tidepools, mussel beds, and
other fascinations for young and old. Our cottage is superbly located and combines convenience,
privacy, and comfort. It is a nicely furnished, fully equipped vacation home with a large deck and,
if requested, use of our canoe. On the ground level are living room, dining el, full kitchen, master
BR, bath, and laundry. The second floor contains a very large room with twin beds at one end and an
additional single bed at the other as well as a full bath.
Ours is a prime location at the tip of Clark Point, which lies between Southwest Harbor and Somes
Sound. From our cottage, it is a two minute walk in one direction to the historic Claremont Hotel,
with its tennis and croquet courts, dock, and fine restaurant. In the other, it is three minutes to
the town dock, lobster wharf and pick-up point for the free Acadia bus. A few minutes further walk
brings you to the ferry dock with service to the Cranberry Isles. The Southwest Harbor town center
is now less than a half mile, as are boat and bike rental facilities, the Gilley Museum, and varied
restaurant and shopping opportunities. The lakes and mountain trails of Acadia Park are within a 5-
30 minute drive, as are the Causeway Club and Kebo Valley golf courses (both open to the public at
reasonable rates). In short, this is the place to be for a vacation during which everyone will be
happily engaged.
