Come to Barn Island and relax. This beautiful studio is adjacent to Barn Island Nature Reserve, the
largest nature preserve in Connecticut comprised of over 1,000 acres and miles of hiking and biking
trails. This studio has it all. Nestled on a peaceful waterfront retreat, there are water views
everywhere you look. The property is surrounded by stone walls with a heated inground pool,
expansive stone patio with fire pit, dining table and sitting areas, a shady pergola with dining
table and perfect lighting for private dinners, and gardens galore with intimate seating areas
throughout.
The property boasts 120 feet of waterfront with a 12 foot by 16 foot deck and private dock on
Wequetequok Cove, the original settlement site for the first residents of Stonington. Directly
across the cove is Connecticut’s newest winery, Sea Hawk Vineyards, a 110 acre expanse of vines and
open fields. Just minutes away by boat is Little Narragansett Bay, Sandy Point, Fisher’s Island,
Napatree Point, Watch Hill, the beaches of Rhode Island, and the open ocean.
Just sit back and relax while you enjoy your surroundings or take a leisurely stroll to nearby
historic Stonington Village. See the site where the British were repelled during the Battle of
Stonington, watch the oldest fishing fleet in Connecticut come and go, and enjoy the many fine
restaurants and shops. Just a short drive away you will find fishing charters, sailing, snorkeling,
diving, and golf. Feel free to explore the Nature Reserve on foot, bike, or boat.
The studio comes with complimentary kayaks for taking in the beauty of all the nearby inlets. Pack
a picnic lunch and enjoy the soothing sound of the sea. Upon your return relax in the pool and
energize yourself for an afternoon bike ride. Bicycles for the two of you are included with the
studio rental.
If independence is not your thing then guidied kayaking tours, power boat rides, and sailing aboard
a 22 foot O’Day can all be arranged for you. Finally, at the end of your day, unwind and relax at
any of the numerous sites on the property and enjoy spectacular sunsets over the cove with your
favorite glass of wine.
If you are joining us on a Friday evening we invite you to our sunset wine tasting. Say hello to
the night sky over the cove as we listen to Bocelli and share a libation, weather permitting of
course.
Some people are content to rest here in perfect serenity while others see the sea as their
sketchbook of dreams. The area holds endless possibilities.
The studio is a perfect place to spend a special anniversary or a rejuvenating vacation. The studio
is located in a private waterfront home with separate entrance.

You can arrive by train through Mystic or Westerly. Pick-up at the station can be arranged.
New York is 2 hours by car.
Boston is 1 hour and 30 minutes away.
T.F. Green Airport is 35 minutes away.
Foxwood Resort Casino is 15 minutes or 8 miles.

This area has many special events including the Mystic Wooden Boat Show, Blessing of the Fleet,
Mystic Outdoor Art Festival, a Taste of Mystic, Shakespeare in the Park, Westerly Pops, Opera in the
Park, Blues on the Beach, Rhythm and Roots Festival, and many other outdoor summer concerts.
This property is just a few minutes from the Village of Watch Hill. This picturesque seaside resort
has waterfront dining and exclusive boutiques. It boasts the Flying Horse Carousel, one of the
oldest carousels in the country.
Nearby you will find Misquamicut, a beach community filled with glorious sandy beaches.
The Westerly train station is just a few miles from the studio and it offers easy access from New
York to Providence.
