Little Otter Cottage in Gig Harbor

An Idyllic Cottage in a setting like one you may have dreamed of or
remembered from some past moment in time. Away from the busy city and
bustling suburbs you will find yourself nestled on a relaxing lounge
chair on a deck over the water....looking across a small Bay at a true
Old Growth Forest. Maybe an Eagle will drop into the water for a fish,
or several Little Otters will play in the reflective water. Then, there is the joy you will hear drifting across the water from children frolicking in the warm,
shallow waters of the Penrose Park shoreline. Kayakers will glide by,
leaving a ripple in their path. Motor and Sailing Boats will come and
go from the Marina and Park dock. Should you sit idly by a little longer? Perhaps you may want to rent a Kayak from the neighbor, he'll deliver it to your beach! Or if the day is getting on, a move to the shade under the Cabana or under the
graceful Madrone Tree on the patio? Later on, under the clear starlit
sky you can sit in the Hot Tub/Spa (summer only) enjoying a glass of wine. Whatever you choose, you will find yourself never wanting to leave!

The main Cottage sits upon piers over the water with a deck that wraps
around from the front to the south side of the building. At low tide
you will have a pebble beach around 3 sides, at high tide you are
surrounded by calm water!
You will find all of the usual amenities of a vacation home: a fully
supplied Kitchen, Living Room with a small fireplace for cozy winter
nights, 1 Full Bathroom, 1 Bedroom (King bed) and an additional
sleeping option (Queen Futon Bed). The couch in the Living Room is
suitable for sleeping one person comfortably. All bedding and bathing linens
are available. Just bring your own Food, Beverages, Beach Towels and
Toiletries. There is Internet Access, laundry facilities,
Hot Tub/Spa (summer only), a floating raft, a mouring buoy for your boat and a 40 ft dock.
The second and smaller building is a large sleeping area over the new
garage. This is a charming space with carpet, wood trim, sky lites and paned windows but currently no lavatory amenities. With a Queen Bed it is available
for extra sleeping only.

Little Otter Cottage is centered in Lakebay, on the Key Peninsula,
about 20 minutes from Gig Harbor proper. Between the Home Store,
Lulu's Home
Port Diner and Garden Bar, The Burger and Shake Joint, a gas station
and Lakebay Marina for boat gas, why would you want for anything more?
But....you can go Wine Tasting or visit a local Lavender Farm, visit
Penrose State Park for a walk on the beach or an exploration of an
incredible spit of land that you'll only find at very low tide. There
are hiking trails with one in particular that ends at Puget Sound
with an absolutely breathtaking view of Mount Rainier...be sure to
take your camera!! You may also find the resident Eagles sitting in an
old tree or spot their nest
high in a tree.
Down the road a bit is Longbranch and the Filucy Bay Marina. The
Longbranch Community Center frequently holds Dances and other Local
happenings. Look for flyers at the Home Store or in the local news.
If you still feel the need for a touch of shopping or fine dining, you
can always head back to Gig Harbor for the afternoon or evening.
But you'll probably be perfectly happy ambling out onto the Lakebay
Marina Dock for the adventure of it...you'll be rewarded if you bring
along some change for an ice cream bar to eat on the way back. You'll
most likely want to stay put at the Little Otter Cottage...maybe a
book and a glass of wine, good friends to chat with...you don't get a
chance for this type of experience so often anymore......Just have a
Great Time!!

Rates are as follows:
Summer (May 1-Sept 15)............$175 per night for 4 people or less
                                       ............$1225 weekly for 4 people or less
Winter (Sept 15-Apr30)..............$135 per night for 4 people or less
                                      .............$875 weekly for 4 people or less
Monthly/Long Term ................. negotiable based upon utilities,
                                                 rental period and occupancy
Holiday Rates.............................$150/winter-$200/summer per night

 Rates for 4 people or less (Holiday periods include: Pres. Weekend, Easter,       Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day , Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years)

Summer and Holidays....Three (3) night minimum,
Winter.................Two (2) nights minimum

Terms

Damage/Security Deposit is due upon reservation to secure dates: $200 which includes a $75 Cleaning Fee. If you prefer to leave the place as found upon your arrival, the cleaning fee will be refunded.

The full Rental amount is due 60 days prior to arrival.

Cancellation Policy: Up to 45 days prior to Rental Dates full refund.
Up to thirty days prior to rental dates, deposit amount plus one night's rent will not be refunded unless we are able to re-rent for the period. Every attempt
will be made to re-rent. Should we be able to re-rent, all but $100 will be refunded.
