Our favorite rental house so far!

Oh my...what can I say? This house was great! It felt more like a beach house than any rental we have had so far in the past 5 years. We loved the deck that looked on to the beach...it felt so private. We have 2 young children and this was the first time that the pool was truly heated and they swam in the pool and hot tub to their hearts delight! We loved shelling on the beach. We enjoyed the turtle popping his head out to visit us everyday. We went to the park often which had a pirate ship and then headed to a couple of the pubs and restaurants. Mostly we just enjoyed hanging out on the beach which was just gorgeous and cooking out and enjoying the sunsets.

Recommended for: families with young children

Island Treasure

We arrived and everything was in order and clean.
The house is lovely and spacious and the view breathtaking.
We spent a month here and were sorry to leave.
We now wait for the next opportunity to return.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with teenagers

A natural paradise

My husband, 2 year old son and I stayed here for a week. The home is initially jaw dropping from the long, natural driveway to the pool and the glass front doors that allow you to see through to the beach. We watched dolphins feeding right off the beach in the morning and watched the 2 gopher turtles that live under the deck make their slow way through the brush. We didn't have any need to do anything but stay at the house which suited our needs just fine - the pool and jacuzzi are great and between that and the gorgeous beach our son was in heaven.

When you do need to leave this paradise shopping is just minutes away - there's a Wal-Mart, Publix and CVS (plus more) within 10 minutes. We did take-out dining from Cafe 776 one night (HIGHLY recommend their fried grouper sandwiches). At the other end of the key is the Lock & Key restaurant too - another one I'd highly recommend from previous trips to Englewood.

For those who want to venture out more then we did there are also boat, kayak and jet ski rentals at the other end of the key. There are quite a few fishermen who fish right off the beach here and seem to do extremely well. My son was fascinated with them.

We hope to come back soon - the privacy, views and incredible sunsets cannot be beat!
