traveler reviews for this fort lauderdale house rental

Location, Location, Location!!

Spree (Atlanta, GA)
Review submitted: June 21, 2011   Date of arrival: June 11, 2011

We absolutely LOVED this house! The location is excellent and the pictures do not do it justice. You are sooo close to the beach and to the lighthouse point. The best part is that there are hardly any people on the beach so it is very private. The pool is wonderful and we had no problems with it at all. The pond between the house and the beach is always moving and filled with fish. And there is a family of beautiful iguanas living in the brush that come out to sun themselves. It is like living in a nature preserve for a week!
The house is older but has been remodeled. Everything worked fine. There aren't many channels on the cable system and no DVD. But the wireless internet worked perfect and we were able to hook the iPad up and stream Netflix to the TV for a family movie night.
The neighborhood is quiet and pretty yet close to A1A, US1, and lots of shops and food. There is a great park at the end of the street near the drawbridge with a playground, swings, and view of the lighthouse.
We enjoyed our stay! The rental company and Mr. Waterman were easy to deal with. A neighbor met us with the keys and was very helpful throughout our stay. I look forward to going back to Pompano Beach again. I miss the iguanas already!!

Family get-together

Review submitted: November 3, 2010   Date of arrival: October 16, 2010

This house is in a perfect location! The private beach with private walkway was real plus. The layout of the house was good and easily accomodated our family of eight adults, including my aging parents. The house was clean and the bedrooms were comfortable. The appliances are up to date and the kitchen is well equipped. The screen porch is an added feature. There are some maintenance issues with the house that need to be fixed. Most are small annoyances, but the biggest problem is the pool which appears to have some serious leaks. It required continual additions of water which then caused a problem with the pool's chemical balance.

Beach House

Jackie (Thousand Oaks, CA)
Review submitted: July 13, 2010   Date of arrival: June 28, 2010

Overall good experience. House was clean. Plenty of furniture for comfort. Good set up for families with teens. Older home, not luxurious but nicely decorated. Free standing circular stair case may not be good for families with small children/toddlers. Beautiful views of lightening storms over the ocean. Easy access to beach and multiple activities. Fishing poles provided for fishing in the backyard pond. Frequent backyard visits from Iguanas and lizards. We did day trips to the Everglades (Billie Swamp Safari), Key Largo (snorkeling @ Pennecamp), Deep Sea fishing with FishBolo (less than a mile from the house), Movie theaters, restaurants and Starbucks within 5 miles. Many other activities easily accessable. One problem at the house, the pool leaked a great deal but we just kept filling with the hose so not too inconvenient. Caretaker lives on the same street and was very pleasant and helpful. We would stay there again and would recommend to our friends.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing
