Then have a catered gourmet lunch or romantic dinner prepared by your own private chef: Chef Jeremy Jones. Dine on the covered patio just off the gourmet kitchen with wooded seclusion or in the formal dining room by candlelight offering a fanastic night view of Cumberland Valley, wrapping up the experience sitting by the open fire pit sipping Sherry or roasting marshmallows. This private, secluded, lush setting is the perfect gathering place: a refuge to spend quality time with family and friends.

Kitchen: Fully stocked gourmet kitchen; cooking utensils, essential
spices, coffee pot, stainless steel appliances; refrigerator, mircrowave, dishwasher, gas 6-burner Viking stove. Complementary coffee, fresh coffee creamer, teas and hot coco.

Grocery Service: A grocery service is offered for an additional $125.00 fee plus cost of groceries. Please note, our staff takes the utmost care selecting produce and meats.

Welcome Baskets: Seasonal fruit/chesses/fresh bread and cracker baskets available upon arrival with your choice of beverage. Price is in conjunction with the number of guests to be served.

Outdoor Features: Three covered swings, covered hammock, 2 vegetable and herb gardens, gas grill, deck with five rocking chairs, covered patio with
dining area, and unique sitting area with fire pit. All fully furnished. Fishing/swimming pond with dock within walking distance with canoe, 2 kayaks and floats provided, bring your own fishing gear.

NEW to the Mountain House are 2 kayaks which can be used with the canoe at the neighborhood 3 acre fishing/swimming pond with dock which is in walking distance from the house. Gourmet picnic lunches packed in brown craft bags or water-proof backpacks for your daily outings are also available upon request.

NEW Each Saturday beginning May 30th, enjoy a stroll thourgh our local Farmer's Market outside Mercersburg Health Center, in downtown Mercersburg, just 10 minutes from the Mountian House.  Shop for fresh vegetables, cheeses from local dairy farmers, and desserts, while admiring the work of local artists, listening to that Saturday's featured band.

 Local Dining: Dine in town at our local Pub; Flannery's which operates a "scratch" kitchen; creating all of their stocks, soups, sauces and desserts from scratch. Flannery's butchers their own meats and pours 19 craft beers, as well as purveying great wine from around the world. The circa 1809 Tavern with its exposed architecture, and stone fireplace, as well as it's three dining rooms offer a comfortable spot for lunch or dinner.

NEW Private Chef Service: Arrangements can be made through the Mountain House staff to have Flannery's Restaurant Executive Chef, Jeremy Jones, who has a reputation for creating menus that appear to be straightforward and healthy culinary jewels that then explode with innovative and exuberabt flavors. Let Chef Jeremy take over the Mountain House kitchen preparing a delightful gourmet lunch or romantic dinner for you and your guest utilizing the freshest ingredients from local farmers and his impressive list of experience from around the world. Cut down your own Christmas tree minutes from house; tree stand and lights provided. Bring your personal decorations, starting a family tradition on the Mountain.

Cleaning Policy: Although this is a vacation rental, the Mountain HOuse is maintained as though it was a private residence. We appreciate our guests' cooperation in maintaing this standard. However, if after your stay, excessive cleaning is required, your credit card will be assessed an additional $100.00 cleaning fee. If this occurs, you will ne notified.
