The Salty Dophin - 3 Bed/2 Bath PGI Canal Home in Punta Gorda

The "Salty Dolphin" is a spectacular canal home with over 2,000 square feet of clean, uncluttered, living space with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. With all new furniture, housewares, electronics and art work added in November, 2008, this home offers a contemporary, Caribbean flare with many special touches. The lanai has an extra large heated pool with a cage and baby barrier fence, a cushy seating area with a bar, grill and lounge chairs. There are two docks and a high capacity boat lift. The quiet neighborhood is great for walking, running and biking and is only minutes to Fisherman's Wharf & the downtown area.  We welcome those seeking a families and couples for week long vacations as well as retirees coming to enjoy a long term rental in the sun.  We have a  master bedroom overlooking the pool, a queen guest room and a third guest room suitable for children or another couple. We are child/baby-friendly.  The pool offers a new Baby Barrier safety fence to ensure children and grandchildren are safe by the pool.  Baby gear includes packnplay, high chair, child gates, outlet covers, stroller, kiddy pool etc. We will consider some dogs for an additional fee.  Available monthly or weekly with special rates for professional renters during the summer months.

Enjoy the view of the canal and pool from the master bedroom, living room, kithen or dining area. The lanai includes a high end, comfortable seating area, a bar, gas grill and lounge chairs for sunbathing. The extra large pool has night lights for quiet evenings outside or a late night swim. There are ceiling fans throughout and sliding glass doors along the pool from the dining area/kitchen, living room and master bedroom, so it feels open and airy with a constant view of the pool/canal.

The spacious master bedroom is furnished from the Cindy Crawford line, offering a spectacular king size bed, flat screen TV and a large walk-in closet. Leave the sliders open at night and enjoy the lights from the pool. One guest room has a queen size bed with a beach house theme. The other guest room has a surfing theme with a twin over full bunk bed and a twin trundle for maximum comfort.

The kitchen opens to the bar through a large window and overlooks the canal and pool. The dining area also overlooks the pool and comfortablely seats up to 6. The living room/den is furnished with leather including a couch, recliners and tub chairs. There is a flat screen TV with DVD and wireless high speed Internet access. The extra large two car garage keeps your vehicles cool and offers plenty of storage. The laundry room has an extra large capacity washer/dryer. All high end linens are provided including beach towels, beach chairs and coolers. The owners have added many special touches to ensure your vacation is perfect and carefree. Ask about child/baby gear that comes with the rental.

AIRPORTS: 40 minutes to Regional South West Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers; 1 hour to Sarasota Brandenton International Airport (SRQ) or 1 hour and 45 minutes to the Tampa International Airport (TPA). For those coming from the Northeast, there are non-stop Direct Air flights from Worcester to Punta Gorda Airport during peak season. We've utilized all of these airports, so please let us know if any questions.

GREAT LOCATION: Punta Gorda is one of Florida's last great gems. It's a boaters paridise with great cruising/sailing and fishing right from your back door. The atmosphere is casual and low key and the people here are friendly and helpful.  There is a beautiful historic downtown with shops and restaurants. The town is off the beaten highway path, yet close and easy access to everything you need. Beautiful beaches, unlimited shopping, children's attractions, movies/theater and cultural activities are all readily available within short drive. It is one hour north of Naples and one hour south of Sarasota.

SHOPPING: Less than 5 minutes to Fisherman's Village and lots of charming local shops in town or several major shopping malls about a half hour drive. Several Grocery Stores, Drug Stores, Banks, Super Wal-Mart and Home Depot within 2-5 miles.

BOATING: Bring your power boat or rent one at Holidaze. The double wide boat dock with lift is just steps from the pool and it’s only a short cruise to Charlotte Harbor.

RESTAURANTS: Fisherman's village and lots of great restaurants downtown all within 5 minutes.
