WINTER: Its a Ski Lodge next to the slopes and sled runs! Ski-in,
ski-out when it snows or walk a few steps to the slopes. This
upscale, Log-style home is located next to a major ski resort, on
the edge of the National Forest, and is surrounded by trees to
ensure privacy & tranquility. This home is unique, because there are
only a few vacation rental homes in Big Bear Lake where you can ski
from the home to the ski run. Because it is next to the forest,
there are all kinds of sled runs and there are 10 sleds for you to
use. The little ones can sled in the back yard.

The home is not in a track-type neighborhood, but secluded on a large lot and the living areas open onto a large upstairs deck that is an extension of the home with a gas BBQ, and Italian style glass and metal bar with 4 swivel barstools, and umbrella, a canopied swing, a
large canopied glider, patio chairs and glass table. The deck is so
relaxing and the vistas so beautiful that you won't want to
leave. You can enjoy breakfast and lunch in the warm sunshine and
clear mountain air. If you fill the bird feeder, you will be
entertained all day by the birds and tiny creatures from the forest.
The lower deck / verandah features a relaxing Spa to refresh after a
day on the slopes or a vigorous forest walk. The back yard is huge,
lots of space for the kids to play in the snow and explore.
The great room / kitchen area has views of the forest and slopes;
the three large double sliding glass doors & skylights give the home
a light, open feeling. The Living Room area has a U-shaped
sectional couch, a 37" flat screen HGTV, High Speed Internet
connection, and a cozy stone fireplace.
The decor throughout the home is Log / Western / Native American
style. There is a second stone fireplace downstairs in one of the
bedrooms. The kitchen is equipped with microwave, coffee maker,
cappuccino maker, coffee grinder, toaster, toaster oven, electric
can opener, blender, large pots, pans, fry pans and woks.
The home is 2 story with four and a half bedrooms, 3 downstairs and
1 and half bedrooms upstairs. The upstairs bedroom has a king-size
bed, a beautiful wood electric Fireplace, a 26" HDTV, an outside
door, a skylight and a small adjoining fifth bedroom with sturdy
mission style bunk-beds. This is perfect for a couple with small
children. The three downstairs bedrooms have Queen-size log beds,
sliding glass doors and one of the bedrooms has its own stone fireplace.
Also, upstairs is a fun Game Room with a tournament fooz-ball game
table, a bumper pool table, TV and DVD player. Altogether, there are
4 new television sets + 1 one in the kid's room, 2 DVD
players, and a VCR for the kids. There are numerous VHS movies for
children, provided free of charge.

Located just steps from the beginner run of Bear Mountain Ski
Resort. No parking hassles, no cramming into the ski resort shuttle,
no waiting for the "sleepy-head" and the kids can come home
for lunch. For being close to the ski resort the home is relatively
sound-proof, so the snow guns won't keep you awake. If you bring
grandma and grandpa they can sit in the living room and watch the
skiers and ski lift chairs going by through the trees.
During the winter ski season this is one of the best locations in
Big Bear Lake.

SUMMER: Hike from the back yard. The Getaway is perfect for your summer vacation; relaxing forest and mountain views, huge back yard leads to the forest and hiking trails. Walk to the Zoo and Golfing. Minutes from the lake and Village. Rent a jet ski or boat or just relax and read a book. There is a tent for the kids to set up in the back yard. 

For those that care, The Getaway is meticulously cleaned and supplied with kitchen towels, paper towels, facial tissue, bath tissue, bath soap, kitchen soap, trash bags.

Xmas Holiday- 5 night minimum- $625 to $699 per night.

Ski Season: $525 per night on the weekends and $499 per night - Mon. thru Thurs.

Discount Rates for Fall- 40% off, Spring, Summer  (April 31 to Nov. 15)
