Great 2 story house 1/2 block from ocean. Located in lovely Oceano Dunes arena.

Downstairs 2 bedrooms. full bath. Upstairs has master
bedroom and bath also a small outside deck, full kitchen, living room and dining room fire place also a 46" flat screen HDTV and a large outside deck . 2 car attached garage and lovely small back yard.

Renters BEWARE!!!

This rental is what you worry about when renting on-line. Upon arrival, the house was filthy. We called the manager and he sent someone to clean. We were told that the owner had stayed there last and felt this was rentable! There were Cheerios and hairs in the bed! The bathrooms were filthy, etc.... Even after she came to clean, the place was not clean. This house has been neglected! How much does a new shower curtain cost!! We had to fix the sliding door ourselves so we could go outside! We had to wash every dish and glass before use because they were dirty! When we complained to the management, he said he would go ahead and refund our cleaning deposit too because he wanted us to return. Well, we have not yet received ANY deposit back. It has been 19 days since we checked out and the contract we signed says the refund would be provided within 7 days. These people are dishonest and do not care if you are satisfied. We feel completely taken! DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!!! I would not recommend this property to anyone!

Owners response: It is true. When the renters came to check in the beach house was not cleaned. There was a misunderstanding with the cleaning company. I offered to refund all fees rental charge and all deposits if they would like to rent some where else. I also offered to let them come back for a weekend at n/c. I talked to the renters after I had the cleaning company come buy the clean. The renters told me every thing was fine. What I told them if they cleaned the house before they checked out. I would refund there cleaning deposit. They didn't clean anything. They left the house in very poor shape. As far as the shower curtian its new. I don't know what they are talking about. There securtie depost was refunded 5 days after they checked out. This is not a comon rental propertie. Its our home. We take great pride in our home. Its always in great shape. We have been rented our home for over 10 years when don't have the time to go to the coast. We live in Fresno.this only the seconed negitive responce. I have to say. This review is coming out of spite. Any questions or would like me to send more pic's of our home. I would be more than happy to. Thank you for your time. Rick Guire

Billing issue

We (3 families) went there to this house during a weekend trip in late June 2011.

The advantages:
- The house was decent and pretty close to the beach.
- We were allowed to stay a few more hours on sunday afternoon, the day we checked out, since there were no renters the following day.

Disadvantages:
- the blinds were not in good shape - they were unusable
- None of the bedrooms and bathrooms had locks. The explanation given by the caretaker about kids locking themselves in were laughable. If that were the case, they could have created a door lock with a key that could be opened from outside if such a situation were to happen. This severely affected privacy issues for our family members.
- they said they may have a grill in the garage but that was just not in any good usable state - good we took our backup grill along with us.
- They warned us to NOT use dishwasher, laundry and shower/bath at the same time, becuase if we did, then water would leak all over the place. Really? wow! I wonder what the state of the plumbing system is, in this house.

What was totally unacceptable was, when one of the toilets suddenly clogged and would not flush, right in the middle of our stay/trip. Well, it was just a regular block in the toilet, that could happen from normal usage. This caused a lot of discomfort because one of the toilets was unusable from sat nite into sun. We even told the caretaker twice but it was not fixed. When the deposit check was returned, I was shocked to see that they actually passed on the plumbing fee to me (almost like $100). I even called the property owner/manager to talk about this to say it was not something we "broke" but something that happens sometimes with any toilet with poor plumbing, but they refused to give me back my money for that amount that they had to pay the plumber. I got back my deplosit money (whatever little was left over) almost 2.5 weeks (and numerous phone calls and emails) later.

I guess I should also venture into vacation rentals - seems like a good business. I can then start charging renters to fix my own house.

In response to this review.
They are correct about the blinds.
But they are usable and we are replacing them.
As far as the bbq I told them we had one
but it wasn't in very good shape and that they should bring one
with them if they wanted to be sure they could bbq.
All the plumbing worked fine before they arrived.
All bathrooms have doors and are lockable so I don't know what that's about.
The dishwasher, washer, dryer and baths & shower work fine. They don't leak.
They did stop up the toilet in the master bath.
We had to higher a plumber to repair it. We were told it was clogged with a number of well lets just say some bad things. the charge to us was $103.48. We did keep $100.00 of there deposit. We also kept $75.00 for cleaning.They left the house in quite a mess. We only keep what the cleaning lady charges us. This beach house is our home. We say there most of the time. We take a lot of pride in our home. The claims these people are making are just not true. It is true that the returning of the balance of the deposit was late. As a rule we return the deposit with in 1 week. It took 10 days to get there's to them. My bad! When I talked to this renter. He told me they had a great time! After the plumbing charge. I guess he chanced his mind. Thank you for your time.

Perfect house for a family fun weekend!

The location of this house is by far its best attribute, being able to walk from its oversized patio right onto the beach was very convenient. The house itself is relatively smaller but could still hold two smaller families. You definitely get what you pay for,and more, for the price i think this is the best vacation value by far! i definitely look forward to renting this house again!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers
