traveler reviews for this gaylord chalet rental

Clean, very nice cottage, all the ammenities

Review submitted: August 14, 2014   Date of arrival: August 3, 2014

We stayed in Little Bear this August.

The lake:
Nice no wake lake. Kids enjoyed use of the paddle boat daily and routinely saw small turtles and fish. This side of the lake contains less lake growth on the bottom. Shallow lake.

The house:
Stocked with everything you need (pots, pans, vacum, ...). Plenty of towels to shower with. The furnishings are nicely done and the furniture is not broken down or old looking which is common with many rentals. The bathrooms are brand new. Nicely tiled and nothing generic about them. Very clean.

There is 2 floor fans and a ceiling fan in the upstairs bedroom. The sun comes in the Western facing windows so it can get warm in the LR. Might bring a small turbo fan (we did) for a BR or just use one of the floor fans if you get 80 degree days. Nights are cool so the house is quite comfy.

Other features:
The association property (pool w/restrooms, picnic pavillion, beach, and playground, including basketball court) is 40 sec away by car at 10mph.

There is ORV trails readily accessible about 100' from the cottage in multiple directions. If you ATV or Snowmobile, this place accomodates in spades.

There is a house right next door, 20', but on the other side, he's over there 100' or so and was not there when we stayed. Not a lot of houses on the lake so, you kinda have the lake to yourself.

It is a straight shot on the main road out of the association from the cottage. Then left (to head toward Gaylord) or right (toward Waters and Grayling).

Dorene is quite accessible via phone, text, or email, promptly responding.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet-friendly, sight seeing

Owners response: I think this guest pretty much covered it all! No need to say anything further but just come and see for yourself.
Owners are constantly updating this home to make it more comfortable for the guests.

Little Bear Hideaway

Review submitted: July 9, 2014   Date of arrival: June 30, 2014

Had a wonderful, relaxing week with my family. Place was lovely, very clean and came with all that you will need (*except a kettle). If swimming in the lake isn't for you, the heated outdoor pool is a very short walk away. About a 10 minute drive to "downtown" Gaylord. Really enjoyed it

Owners response: I'm glad these guests had a relaxing time. Owners have this home set up as a home away from home with extras and strictly set up for the vacationer in mind. Total relaxation and quietness awaits you! Come check out all that Gaylord has to offer.

Review submitted: February 25, 2014   Date of arrival: February 22, 2014

3 day snowmobile trip was the best ever. This cottage is so nice and so affordable. Dorene from the leasing agency is so easy to do business with. Plenty of room for cars and snowmobile trailers. The amenities were superb. Hot Tub and Ping pong table got plenty of use. Snowmobile trails are about 2 miles from the cottage and easy to ride to on the snow covered roads. We will come back next year for sure.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet-friendly, romantic getaway

Owners response: These guests were right! Everyone loves this home and owners are constantly updating and making home more comfortable. We are right in the middle of
Vacationland, whether for winter sports or summer sports. Gaylord has it all.
For winter, Gaylord gets the most snow in lower northern Michigan since we are
the highest elevation. We get the most snow, hands down! Also we are close
to ski hills for the skiers and snowboarders, just think how nice the hot tub
will feel after a day on the trail or don't have to share the hot tub with total strangers if you were to book a hotel. How nice is that! Come stay and play in Gaylord's Vacationland!
