Ski Weekend

Nabbs (Spring Lake, MI)
Review submitted: January 9, 2013   Date of arrival: January 4, 2013

We had a group of 8 stay for a ski weekend and had a fantastic time. The cabin was very clean and well maintained, plus the location was perfect for skiing at Shanty Creek, Tree Tops or Boyne. In the evening we enjoyed sledding out onto the frozen lake in the back, and had a nice bonfire (courtesy of the stocked wood pile that was available!) Overall it was great and we can't wait to come back next year!

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers, pet-friendly

Owners response: Location....Location.....Location is where this Chalet is located. Close to just about anything and everything to do in winter, fall spring and summer.
Winter time, there are ski hills nearby and snowmobile trails nearby, also
cross country skiing. Summertime, there are multiple golf courses (Golf Mecca)
lots of day trips, Mackinac, Traverse City, Petoskey, endless day trips.
Two lakes to enjoy at the home as well as an outdoor heated pool just down
the road, walking distance.
Everyone loves Little Bear Hideaway and owners take pride in making sure their home has all the necessities and amenities to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. This chalet gets repeat guests all the time requesting this home.
Come stay and play in Gaylord, Michigan's Premier Vacationland!

We love Little Bear, great family escape!

Review submitted: July 29, 2011   Date of arrival: July 8, 2011

Our family thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this HOME when we rented it this summer! I call it a home because it had all the comforts of home. It is in perfect condition and has large rooms/space, the great room on the main floor helps keep the family together with just enough space for freedom, an awesome basement fun area for the kids and adults, a great view from the huge porch, has a great sandy beach with seating...swing...beach chairs...canoe...kayaks......I could go on for days!

The rental manager too is so great. She is very kind and helpful. I made a call to her with a question and she drove on over to help me out!

Our father-in-law came too and he is wheelchair bound with limited walking with a walker and it was very handicap accessible. The bathroom on the main floor is a walk-in shower so his shower chair fit. The only thing you need is a portable ramp to get in and out because there are 3 steps to the front door. We were able to do it but the ramp would be easier. So it is also a great getaway for a member of the family who may have a disability.

We also liked the lake size for kids...big enough to explore but small enough to not have to worry (with life jackets)! We all ready are trying to reserve for our next family reunion in 2 years!

Recommended for: families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway
