little fishing village of Chelem, in the state of Yucatan.
You are only a 60 second walk to enjoy the white sand beach and the
soothing waters of the Gulf of Mexico! The Villa is also located
within walking distance of Chelem's town square, church, and local
restaurants and shops.
The busier port town of Progreso, with the world's longest pier
(which you can see lit up at night from your Villa) is only a 10
minute drive. You can stroll along Progreso's seaside malecon and
explore its many restaurants and shops.
The colonial city of Merida (the capital of Yucatan)is only about
half an hours drive and it provides something for everyone! In
addition to a rich history and variety of sites and activities,
it has Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, Home Depot, Office Max,
Starbucks, malls and many more choices for your shopping needs.

The modern kitchen comes fully equipped with a breakfast bar and
stools, a fridge/freezer, a stove/oven, microwave, coffeemaker,
blender, toaster, water dispenser, pots/pans, plates/bowls, glasses,
mugs, wineglasses, utensiles, food storage containers, etc. (a list
will be provided)
Enjoy the ping pong table in the upstairs loft or the dartboard on
the back patio. There are pool toys and floats, frisbees, football, etc. for your use..
There are some thoughful extras included to make your stay more comfortable-
a steam iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, some DVDs.

balcony!
The property manager lives nearby and speaks english. She treats the
guests at Villa Chelem like friends and is there to make your stay
enjoyable.

Villa Chelem contains a helpful notebook with local info, maps and
tips to make your visit a memorable one and the property manager is
always available to assist you.
To give you just a quick summary here: The Gulf Coast will provide
you with many activities, you only have to choose how much or how
little you desire to do. There is- beachcombing, sunbathing,
swimming, snorkeling, mangrove tours, birdwatching (famous for our
flamingos) boating,fishing and numerous water sports. You can visit
the many marketplaces or visit Mayan pyramids...Dzibichaltun is only
15 minutes away...and of course Chichen Itza is now one of the new 7
Wonders of the World...and there are many more! There are haciendas,
caves, cenotes (sweet water holes for swimming) and small villages to
explore.
The colonial city of Merida (the capital of the Yucatan) with it's
beautiful cathedrals, museums, theaters, shops and restaurants
provides a wealth of history and activities. You can visit the free
zoo, take a walking tour or bus tour, shop for local crafts,
try your luck in a casino, ride a horse drawn cart, or even ice skate
at the new skating rink inside the mall!
