vacation rental description

This beautiful new home was completed in 2010 and is located just 5 minutes outside the town of Grand Lake right off highway 34. The boat launch is just across the road and we are located 200 yards off County Rd #4, which is the main road you would take to access the snowmobile trails.

The house has beautiful views of Lake Granby. The home has 2 bedrooms on the main floor. The upstairs has an over-sized master bedroom with a master bath and a second bedroom with two sets of bunk beds. There is a laundry room on the main floor with a washer and dryer. The pine doors and gas fireplace with split log mantle give the home a mountain feel for your stay. Step outside on the deck and relax while taking in all of the beautiful scenery. Cable TV and High Speed Wireless Internet. The dinning room table seats 10. The large basement leads to the garage and makes a perfect place to get your winter gear on.

This spacious home has 4 bedrooms and offers everything you would need to enjoy a perfect stay. The master bedroom and the main room both have cable television. Secured wireless Internet access is available throughout the house. There is a queen bed in the master bedroom and a master bath with dual sinks. There is also a separate shower from the bath tub. The kitchen is ready for your stay with dishes, pots, pans, wine glasses, silverware, glasses and everything you need to cook at home. The appliances are all stainless steel new. The house is also stocked with bath towels.

The driveway of this home is large and flat, with the perfect amount of space for your RV or snowmobile trailer as well as your other vehicles. The location of this home is perfect for winter activities such as snowmobiling and ice fishing on lake Granby. In the summer you can't be in a better location for fishing and dirtbiking, as well as shopping in downtown Grand Lake. The Idleglenn trail head for snowmobiling and dirt biking is roughly a mile down in the road. Snowmobile directly from the driveway in the middle of winter.

Family Vacation in the Mountains

Review submitted: August 18, 2014   Date of arrival: August 3, 2014

Now that the family is grown, getting together has become more difficult. With everyones busy schedules, work and committments we rarily see everyone at the sametime. This vacation allowed us to all meet in a common location, the Grand Lake house, and spend 4 days together. It was great, the house was large enough for everyone, the provisions were perfect and the house was stocked with everything needed! Everyone took turns cooking for the family and the mountains provided enough variety in activities to satisfy all! Great time, great location and great facility.

We had a great time

Review submitted: August 8, 2014   Date of arrival: June 22, 2014

Our stay in Grand Lake was relaxing and enjoyable. The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is a little small, but with only 4 of us staying in the house, it wasn't a problem. It was well stocked with all the necessary appliances and utensils, and even a few non-perishable items other guests had left behind.

I don't know that I would recommend this home for people who have trouble getting around, as you have to enter from the basement garage and climb a set of stairs every time you come and go, but it was no trouble for 2 people in their 30's and 2 in their 50's.

The close proximity to Grand Lake made daily getting around fairly easy. We hiked a few trails in the area and got tips from the locals on where to find moose. We found a young cow on the side of the road grazing, and spotted another later in the week swimming out in Grand Lake. We pulled off the side of the road and watched her rethink her plan of swimming across.

Rocky Mountain National Park is a must if you have kids or enjoy nature. We were able to find large elk herds and a moose and her twin calves just by going on a scenic drive. A week pass is $20, so I highly recommend looking into that.

While we made most of our own meals at the house, I highly recommend Grand Pizza in Grand Lake. We ate there after a long day of hiking at Monarch Lake and it was delicious. I'm not sure what of magic they work in their kitchen since they're at a high altitude, but that crust was amazing. You also can't go wrong with ice cream at Grand Lake Chocolates. Delicious!

The house was decently furnished, comfortable, and clean. The showers had plenty of water pressure, though the upstairs shower is a little cramped. There is tons of closet space in the master bedroom, and the beds were very comfortable. We loved that they were willing to allow us to bring our 110-lb Lab mix, and not charge us some outrageous fee. He loved every minute of the hiking, fresh air, and abundance of places to get into the water.

We would definitely vacation here again.

My Happy Place

Review submitted: July 25, 2014   Date of arrival: July 18, 2014

We loved staying in this beautiful, well equipped home. My entire family & friend were very comfortable and the beds are awesome. Everything was as described, easy direction, but they should light the white horse at the road up to see at night. lol The only issues were the master bath shower, hard to keep the floor from getting wet, needs shields. One other thing, the rooms could use ceiling fans for circulation and to cool a little. Otherwise we truly had a great time & appreciate you sharing your home, we wil be back. Grand Lake is my favorite place in the world and all it has to offer. We love renting the Pontoon from Trail Ridge Rentals, going to Grumpy's and Sage Brust grill. The Rocky Mt theater is not to be missed, excellent productions. Thank you.
