vacation rental description
"Prettier than the Pictures! We rented the Taylor Estate for a combined bachelor/bachelorette party. There were 12 of us, and we had plenty of room! The house was beautiful - every room is like a dream! I couldn't believe it when we got there - it was even better than I had imagined. We had a fabulous weekend - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We will stay at Taylor Estate every time we're in Savannah.
-Holly Peace, Sharpsburg, Ga.
When you stay in the luxuriously comfortable Taylor Estate, you don't visit Savannah... you LIVE it! Located right in the heart of Savannah's picturesque downtown, simply park your car in the roomy 4 car driveway... and throw away the keys! Everything you want to see downtown is at your doorstep.
But.....as lovely as the surrounding Savannah Squares and sites are...you'll be reluctant to leave the handsome elegance of the Estate. Comfy beds, superior linens, fluffy towels, original heart pine floors, soft leather and antique furnishings bequeath an ambience reminiscent of 1870 (the year when the 3 story Manor and its adorable 2 story 2BR/2BA Carriage House, renamed "Taylor Cottage" , were originally built...just 5 years after the end of the Civil War.)
Stylish decor purposely reminiscent of the 1800's allows our Guests a sense of history as they enjoy our luxuriously comfortable 143 year-old historic home! An airy and open floor plan with high ceilings and large arch entrances allow groups to connect together with ease...yet still find their own private nook. Bedrooms are each uniquely themed: Renaissance, Wicker, the Attic (nicknamed, Louisa May Alcott room ) etc. Taylor Estate is filled w/antiques & family-heirlooms which allow our Guests to join in the warmth, joy and memories that makes the Taylor Estate not merely a vacation rental "house"...but your perfect vacation rental "Home" (away from Home!).
After lovingly restoring the Estate in 2001, we lived and raised our children there for a number of years before moving next door. That began its journey as a vacation rental home. I could have decorated it with a generic "renters-mindset" decor, but, I want my Guests to feel like you are staying all together in your own special home (not a generic house). Read my reviews and you'll see how it makes such a difference!
You'll find the Estate well maintained, clean, convenient and truly comfortable! Non-smoking (smoking allowed on outside Courtyards). It's "hauntingly" beautiful with a handsome elegance, owners attentive to problems should they arise...and best of all... not a sofa sleeper to be found! While I don't believe in ghosts personally, some Guests insist I'm wrong....and we do have "stories"
Rain or shine...there's plenty to do in and out of the Estate! Close your eyes and see yourselves going retro playing nintendo gamecube in the attic bedroom, soaking in the Hot Tub beneath the stars surrounded by twinkle lights on the 2 tiered deck of the Manor, Grilling up burgers & steaks in the Courtyards of the Cottage and Manor. Not into charcoal? Whip up sumptious concoctions in the huge stone-tiled "Cooks" kitchen with it's handmade pine countertops (over 400 years old) and which is fully equipped w/high end appliances and all you need for culinary delights. Or bake cookies and Curl up with a book before one of the four fireplaces. Others might want to just chill and watch a show on one of the 5 TV's. Challenge a friend to one of the numerous board games we have in the Manor and Cottage. Brew up coffee or take a cup of tea on the balcony of the Master Bedroom while snapping pictures of others enjoying the flower-filled Courtyard with its umbrella table and chairs below. Spend days exploring the downtown outside your doorstep and nights slumbering peacefully on soft mattresses. If you're adventurous, ask to rent one of the owners personal bikes or kayaks for a day.
Encased mattresses. No dust mites or allergens allowed when you stay in the Taylor Estate. Light draperies float airily from the high-windows. Polished heart of pine, marble and stone-tiled floors blend perfectly with the antique and soft leather/wood furnishings. Despite the fact it sounds like an oxymoron, this decor is what allows Taylor Estate to be BOTH pet-firendly and hypoallergenic!
If all this hasn't yet convinced you there is nothing better than the Taylor Estate for your group...think on this: you get TWO "complete homes in themselves" blending perfectly together with privacy yet togetherness as you meander betwixt the two via the spacious 4 car driveway lying adjacent to the Cottage and behind the rose-arbored entrance of the Manor Courtyard. You get 2 complete kitchens! 2 Courtyards! 2 Living Rooms! 2 Laundry Rooms!
It's true. You'll find nothing beats the Taylor Estate when it comes to comfort, spaciousness, convenience, and VERSATALITY.
Weekend getaways, Church retreats, corporate gatherings, family reunions, GS Troops, wedding parties or Ladies & Couples Getaways, the Taylor Estate allows an array of possibilities.....
Grandparents love the charming Cottage (equipped for Seniors & handicapped accessible). Brides house the family of the Groom in the Cottage and theirs and Bridesmaids in the Manor. Corporate gatherings put girls in one, guys in the other.
Go ahead...imagine the possibilities!
Renting the Manor or Cottage separately...or combined as the Taylor Estate = the perfect solution.
