vacation rental description
There's a children's book called "The House That Jack Built"; which is inspiring as Jack created spaces for everything...and it made the home special and unique. Like Jack, the owner of this 3000 square foot home, also named Jack...went above and beyond while building this home! Details, details, details...
While some will enjoy reading a book or enjoying their morning coffee on the rocking swing on the front porch, others will enjoy exploring the trails that surround the home (say "hi" to Bucky the target deer that marks a path!), some will find their peace on one of the back decks while playing checkers on the large board, everyone will enjoy the new pavilion while dining and entertaining, and roasting marshmellows in the HUGE bonfire pit (and using the new log outhouse...amazing!). Relax and shoot a game, or two, of pool and enjoy spending time with your friends and family. With some many details with this custom home "That Jack Built" the cozy, classy ambiance and warm inviting feeling will bring you in.......and and you`ll never want to leave.
Located on 5 private acres, it has a private gated drive to the home. Ernest Hemingway fished in the nearby Rudd Lake, as it's become well known for. Or take advantage of being minutes from that Nationally recognized Torch Lake, noted for it's beauty and clarity, and boat from lake to lake (and town to town). There is plenty of parking; including a spot for a camper/RV (additional pricing of $500.00 per week).
This is a fabulous place for a large family, reunion or corporate retreat! Reserve July 3 -10 and get a free cherry pie and a bottle of local Cherry Wine!

house rental amenities
Interior:
There seems to be a different, yet pleasant aroma, each time I enter the home. The livingroom hosts a large stone fireplace, up north furnishings, and an open floor plan into the kitchen/dining area. Spacious with tall vaulted cedar lined ceilings and peppered with bear skin rugs and antlers; this is a cozy place to call home! The main floor has two bedrooms, one with a full size bed and the other with a king size bed. Outside both bedrooms is a wood setting and private deck with a gas grill and a table and chairs for lounging. A full bathroom with double sinks is also located on the main floor, and is completely stocked with linens for your convenience. As you gaze at the main level; while walking up the open log staircase you will see many new details by the new "angle" in which you look. The fabulous master bedroom awaits you upstairs with a king bed and large private master bath. The master bath has a "self cleaning" jacuzzi and large shower; both done in a gorgeous custom tile. There is also a computer and desk to use if need be; however, there is NO internet service available in that area. Therefore, you MUST bring a Sprint Card to use. Wondering where the rest of your family is...well, let's head downstairs! Downstairs you'll find two more bedrooms; one with the "Worlds Greatest Full Bed", and the other with 2 twin beds in it. An additional bathroom is also located downstairs, as well as a full size washer and dryer. Another fabulous "space" is the large recreational room that houses a beautiful pool table, as well as another king size and twin size log beds. If you wander out the lower level door you'll be welcomed by an outside patio with quaint seating and large checker board for playing.
Exterior:
The Hemingway House sits on 5 acres of private land with plenty of wild life (so be careful driving). The property sits close to Rudd Lake; which is a well known (at least for the locals) fishing lake. Numerous trails surround the area, as well as take you all of the way into Traverse City. Trail maps are available!
Other exterior features include a large fire pit with numerous chairs for seating, a swing to view the natural beauty of the lake, a gas grill and large long tables for outdoor dining under the log pavilion, a new log outhouse, and the singing birds.
Come explore...come enjoy...our Hemingway House!
