Old world tradition meets modern-day comforts at Casa Finlandia, a
custom-designed four-bedroom, two and a half-bathroom log home in the
San Jacinto mountains that is rustic yet elegant, quaint yet grand,
sturdy yet charming.

Two full-length balconies provide the perfect setting for entertaining
while enjoying the beautiful sunsets overlooking the dense oak and
pine forest and the rugged San Jacinto mountain range. The quiet home
is perfectly situated between two cul-de-sacs a short walk away from
downtown Idyllwild and the Idyllwild Arts school.

The two-story, nearly 2400-square-foot Honka log home contains
numerous amenities, including a two-car attached garage, a bright and
roomy kitchen, spectacular views from both floors, a towering
wood-burning fireplace and cathedral ceilings.

Casa Finlandiaïs dining room abuts both the great room and the
kitchen, creating an open and airy floor plan. The great room has
three tall, nearly floor-to-ceiling windows. On a clear day, the
Pacific Ocean sparkles in the distant view. A view of Lake Diamond is
much closer. The kitchen includes KitchenAid stainless steel
appliances, slab granite countertops and custom-made Alder wood cabinetry.

The main level features the great room, dining room and kitchen,
master bedroom and bathroom, a second bedroom that may be converted
into a small office or den. This level also has a half-bathroom off
the foyer, the attached 515-square-foot garage, a balcony and a wide
front porch.

The lower level features two bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet, a
full bathroom, laundry facilities, space for a wine cellar or extra
storage, a family room and the second balcony that, like the upper
balcony, runs the length of the home.

Maple hardwood floors cover the main floor, while Berber carpet on the
lower level will keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
The home has custom paint and many design details, such as copper
capping on logs and balcony posts.

Each room on the main level has exposed log work featuring Honka logs
direct from Finland. The Finnish builder took great care in building
Casa Finlandia, evidenced in the many extras, such as wood detail and
tiled bathrooms.

Six windows in the great room allow for plenty of sunlight. Enjoy
perfect temperatures all year round with forced air and heat

all. The location was perfect for us and the snow made for a great
time for our children. We've stayed several times in Idyllwild and
this property was easily the most comfortable and well appointed of
