Wish my real home was this nice!

I knew my family was going to love this house when I heard the squeals from within as I grabbed bags from our van. I had spent over 6 months looking at pictures but nothing prepared me for the size and beauty of this home. There is so much space in this house and we ended up using most of it. Most of our time was spent in the little breakfast area next to the kitchen that abutted the beautiful central courtyard. The sound of the fountain and the thick foliage was a great backdrop to our breakfasts. The pool area received a lot of attention too. The water was on the cool side but still felt refreshing after a day of walking the city. All 4 bedrooms are large and comfortable with beautiful bathrooms. We had a group of 7 but there are plenty of rooms to spread out in.Sometimes the insects got a little irritating so we would move into one of the 2 living rooms, close the doors and turn on a little a/c. Problem solved. We also used the mosquito netting in the bedrooms. Works well. The kitchen is really the central room in the house and with the doors open to the courtyard the rooms just flow into each other. It's funny, we took the Merida house tour and agreed that none of the houses we saw were as nice as this one. And a tip of the hat to Rosalinda who was always available to help us out with information about the house and the city. I also loved that the house was such a quick walk to the zocalo.A great house in a great city.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car

Owners response: Dear Rick,

It was my pleaseure to help you, glad you enjoyed this beautiful home.
Looking forward to a return visit in the near future,

Best regards,

Rosalinda

Great House!

This house was much larger than anticipated. It is easily 5000+ Sq feet. The layout has the master bedroom in a completely separate section of the house from the other three bedroom allowing for privacy. The property is beautiful with a great deal of detail to accent lighting and decor. All of the main rooms have air conditioning units and ceiling fans. The master has a king bed with a half bath and room access to the pool. An additional full bath is located up a flight of stairs from the master bedroom. Two of the other bedrooms have queen beds and the fourth has two twin beds. One of the queen bedrooms is located at the front of the house next to the street so road noise might be an issue. The center courtyard with the plants and fountain makes for a great relaxing space with seating on both ends. The kitchen had everything needed to keep purchased food or to prepare a meal. There is a living room/media room with satellite TV and WiFi. There is also a separate salon/formal living room. The only negative aspect I can identify is that the open nature of sections of the house does increase exposure to mosquitoes so a repellant is suggested. Great property for families with older children or teens. There are stairs, so older visitors or those with disabilities should be aware. The property is located within easy walking distance to the main square and multiple restaurants, markets and shops. This was my first time to Merida. I found the city beautiful, and the people were extraordinarily friendly and eager to show off their city. Street vendors were present as in all of Mexico but were far less aggressive than I found in other cities and towns.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway
