Desert View Hideaway in Julian

Desert View Hideaway is a new 1br, 1 ba. house that sleeps 4 in the
upstairs unit. The downstairs unit is a large studio that also
sleeps 4. The two units are totally separate with each unit having
its own entrance, bath and kitchen.
The owners have built and decorated with every attention to quality
and detail. The house sits in a ravine on the ridge of the mountain
giving a view to the desert and the Salton Sea 65 miles to the east.
Look out the large windows to the east and watch the sunrise. The
open floor plan makes for that open feeling and the country-apple (it
is in Julian after all)decor
makes you feel right at home. The living room has an old-
fashioned stove for heating and that cabin ambiance(push the button
and the logs light) plus forced
air heat with ceiling fans in each room. The bathroom has a claw-
foot tub for a deep relaxing soak
or use the large shower. The bedroom upstairs has a double size bed
with an antique iron headboard. It's
all new but decorated to make you feel all nostalgic, cozy, and at
home. This is a great place for
a hideawy.

Julian is an historic gold mining town that has been preserved and
the buildings are still in use
today. Enjoy milling around town and reading the historic placques
out front and then stepping into
the many stores and restaurants that use these buildings daily.
Don't miss the tour of an actual
gold mine, and stop by the old jail and peak through the bars and see
how an inmate lived over a 100
years ago. Eating pie in Julian is also a popular activity. Every
restaurant has their version of
what Mom made when the mines dried up and apples became the new
industry to save the town. Eat your
pie by the slice or take the whole thing back to your private
hideaway. Don't forget Julian has
trails for hiking, Lake Cuyamaca for fishing, wine tasting for the
thirsty, and many quality
restaurants for the hungry. But the number one activity that Julian
offers is the clean air to
breath and the "quiet". Both activities will catch the visitor by
suprise and slowing down to a
calmer way of life is an activity onto itself.
