Cable Cottage - Lake View, Sandy Beach, Pretty & Serene! in Sister Lakes

* In an approximately 2 hr drive from Chicago, 15 minutes east of St. Joeseph, MI, you can be at Cable Lake, one of the Sister Lakes! This lovely & bright, freshly remodeled & decorated cottage with a view to Cable Lake, a non-motorized private lake.

In 35 steps or across a rarely traveled road, you are at the grassy area, sandy beach and lake. The private gradual depth, sandy beach has a pier, diving floats & picnic pavillion. (Great set up for small children, older children love the pier and floating docks).

Cable Lake is part of the Sister Lakes area which consists of summer homes and some year round homes on several beautiful lakes all within walking and biking distance from each other. It has been a favorite "get away" destination for many including many Chicago residents for years.

* In 2006 the entire cottage was remodeled with new bamboo floors throughout, drywall & freshly painted. New curtains, slipcovers & light fixtures. Updated bathroom,(with shower stall only) and a lovely open kitchen. All new dishes & glasses etc.

We like to keep the cottage simple, clean & stylish. We like guests that will appreciate that!

* The cottage has 2 bedrooms, (1 with a queen bed, 1 with 2-twins)and a queen pullout sofa in the living room.

* You can relax on the screened in porch with a view to the lake, spread out on the lawn of the double lot or enjoy the open living, dining room & kitchen area.

* In the evening you can take a sunset cruise in the cottage row boat or relax & watch the sunset from the screened porch, beach or pier.

* In the fall you will enjoy the beautiful fall leaves, crisp fresh air, grilling and bonfires on the property. Take a hike, walk, bike or fish on Cable Lake. You will be able to enjoy the screened porch thru October & beyond. Enjoy the farmers markets, corn maze at Wicks Apple House, apple & pumpkin picking near by. There are many Winery's in the area & quaint towns to visit!

* The cottage has A/C or is heated & cozy all year round!

* You are sure to enjoy the peaceful, fresh & stylish atmosphere at Cable Cottage anytime!

* Year round cottage with heat and AC.

* Sleeps 6 in 2 bedrooms & 1 pull out queen sofa in the living room area. (pack n play & 2 small matresses for extra little one's).

* Fully equipped kitchen with dishes, glasses, utensils, pots/pans,stove, oven, refrig/freezer, microwave, cofeee maker, toaster, TV for DVD/VCR(no TV reception, no cable), CD stereo and no telephone.

* No bed linens, towels, dish towels etc.. (you bring your own)

* Enjoy the screened porch & gas grill. Sit around the fire pit & roast marshmellows, relax on lawn chairs on the grassy double lot. Take out the row boat fishing or enjoy a sunset cruise.

* Steps to the sandy beach, pier, floats & pavillion. (Removed at Labor Day). Walk to the association fishing piers or take out the row boat. The lake was stocked last year with trout and there is also bass, blue gill, croppy, perch & more.

* No smoking in the cottage please! Smoking ONLY on the screened
porch. No pets. Guests are not allowed to bring pets.  If you have pet allergies please let us know.

#1 Enjoy the lovely weather at the beach, grilling & relaxing on the screened porch or enjoying the evening sunset in the row boat.

#2 Enjoy walks or bike riding to neighboring lakes or shops & then returning for an evening bonfire or dinner on the screened porch.

In addition there are many other activities to consider:

* 2 fishing piers walking distance from the cottage. Cable Lake is one of the deepest of the Sister Lakes over 100 ft deep in some areas. Because it is a no motor lake the fishing is great. MI permits required.

* Children enjoy the sandy beach with shallow area & gradually increasing water depth, pier & jumping off floats. (Beach equipment removed on Labor Day)

* The cottage has a row boat for your use or you can rent a paddle boat nearby. Cable Lake is one of the few, if not only, lakes in Sister Lakes with no motors or motor sports & no public access. This allows for a very relaxing experience.

* If you like water sports, Magician Lake, across the main road,(or any of the neighboring lakes),have public access launches area, you can unload your gear & play all day & return to the peace of Cable Lake, (you can park your gear on our double lot).

* Bring your bikes & bike to the neighboring lakes, local ice cream parlor, bars, shops, full service day spa, restaurants, bowling alley or farm stands.

* Shop at the local farmers markets, visit & dine in downtown Dowagiac, enjoy the antique shops and winery's.

*Your 15-30 minutes from many attractions such as several Michigan Winery's, St. Joeseph Michigan. You are a short drive from Saugatuk, South Haven and many other lovely towns & attractions.

*Proceed straight west to St. Joseph, MI on Lake Michigan for a great day trip. It is less than 20 minutes away and has beautiful Silver Beach with a beachfront playground, massive splash fountain, childrens museum and historic carousal right at the beach. The quaint town has art galleries, antique and gift shops and lots of restaurants and cafes!

Rates are weekly based on Saturday 3pm check In and Sat. 11am
check Out. 3 Night Minimum Rates Indicated if Available.

*Prior to May 26, $550 per week.

*May 26 - June 16th  $700 per week, $140 per night minimum of 3 nights.

*June 16th thru Sept. 8th  $850 per week, $150 per night, min 3,  if available.

** The week that includes July 4th is $950, Sat to Sat. June 30-July 7.

*** Labor Day Weekend - If Available Aug. 31-Sept 3  $500

*Sept 8th (after Labor Day)  thru Dec $550 per week, $130 per night minimum of 3 nights.

Call/email to discuss dates & info. and receive confirmation that the dates are available.

I will then reserve it for 7 days waiting for below:

* Copy of drivers license, (xerox or color copy, of person booking and writing the deposit checks).

* Completed Reservation Form, (I will send it to you via email, fax or mail).

* $200.00 security deposit in a personal check and 50% of the weekly rate or 100% of a 3 day rental, in the form of a money order.

Once I receive the above the cottage is booked.

Balance due in the form of money order, 8-10 weeks prior to stay before receiving keys.  I will then mail the keys and final info.

Cancellation - All Deposits 100% refundable with minimum 45 days notice prior to rental date with written or email notice.

$200.00 Deposit Refund - Deposit refunded if there is no damage & cottage is left in "broom clean" condition based on the information we provide.  If you choose not to leave cottage in "broom clean" condition $50 will be deducted from the sec. dep. for basic housekeeping services, (cost of any excessive cleaning will be deducted).

When you mail the keys back to us, the deposit will be returned within 7 days from our receipt of the keys.

Monthly - Fully furnished, no pets, no smoking for the monthly rate, during the "off season" only if available Sept-May
