Spacious, Classy, Catskill Mountain home, w/views&privacy in Woodstock

Cairn Haven is our custom built post and beam home, located on a private and secluded mountain in
the southeast Catskills, minutes from Woodstock, NY, and less than 30 miles from three of the
Catskill's major ski areas. Privately owned Tonche Mountain has three miles of private roads for
long walks and beautiful vistas. The house is situated on 10 acres, surrounded by woods, fields, and
streams. There are spectacular four season views from every room in the house.
This home is very special, where the focus of the design is comfort and room to entertain. The
house, built by local craftsmen, has many special extras, such as hand-pegged, wide plank, hard wood
floors, tongue and groove wood ceilings, custom tile in the kitchen and master bath, and custom
woodwork throughout. The home is spacious with lots of room for large groups to spread out, while at
the same time there is a feeling of coziness and comfort for smaller gatherings.
The property is great for sledding, apple, pear, and huckleberry picking and the fields are full of
wildflowers. The area is home to a wide variety of wild life and has lots of (private) space to
stretch your legs and breathe the mountain air.
Our home is family friendly with a large kitchen and dining area, as well as a family room and loft.
We provide baby equipment so you do not have to lug yours from home.
The master bedroom has a cathedral ceiling, cozy gas fireplace and comfortable bed. The master bath
has a large soaking tub and double sinks, as well as a separate shower and beautiful woodwork.

4 bedrooms, 3 with queen beds, 1 with 3 twins and pull out double, loft with a queen and pull out twin, pull out double in living room. Additional cot and port-a-crib if needed. All beds come with good quality mattresses, linens, and pillows.
Sleeping porch (with 2 queens and one double futon) with glass and
screen windows that can be interchanged.( there is also a twin mattress  that can be used anywherel) 

3 full bathrooms, all with tubs, radiant in-floor heat, lots of towels and towel rods, lots of hot water, tile

Fully stocked kitchen, two sinks, gas stove, electric oven, wine glasses, pottery serving pieces, microwave, quiet dishwasher, lots of stoneware and silverware for large groups, spices, lots of counter space and custom tile, excellent access to screened porch with large table, side board,
wicker furniture, deck with Weber grill (propane provided) and another table and seating on the
deck, the dining room has a table with enough extra leaves to seat 12 people.
2 window air conditioners for 2 bedrooms, 2 ceiling fans on porches, whole house fan that cools down
the house very quickly, washer and dryer, large wood fireplace in living room (wood provided),
remote controlled gas fireplace in master bedroom as well as satellite TV, and glider rocker.
Stereo system with speakers in main living areas, including screened porch
Outside we have: 10 acres of fields, woods and streams with a fire pit, great for making s'mores
(wood provided), hammock, apple & pear trees, huckleberry bushes, stream (newts, crayfish, frogs and
toads)lots of wildlife, wild flowers and many different kinds of birds.
There are spectacular views from every room in the house as well as lots of windows and sunshine.
Peace, quiet, and privacy abound. The house is like new and is not musty or stale.
There must be one adult, 25 or older, on property. Up to two well-trained dogs are welcome (extra fee).

On the property: apple, pear and huckleberry picking in season, playing in the stream, picking
wildflowers, bird watching, star gazing, sledding in season, walks through the woods, flying model
air planes, outside fires
On the mountain: walks, scenic drives, bird watching
In the area: Golf, many fine restaurants (menus and phone numbers at the house), swimming at Kenneth
Wilson State Park (4 miles), cross country skiing and snowmobiling on Catskill State Park land,
fishing in the Esopus (world renowned for fly fishing)and on the Ashokan resevoir, tubing on the
Esopus, skiing, snowboarding, and sledding at local ski areas (Hunter and Cortina, 30 miles,
Belleayre, 27 miles and Windham), day health spas, live theatre, shopping, antiquing, sightseeing in
Woodstock and Kingston, Rondout waterfront-shopping, museums, fine dining, antiquing, Hudson River
activities-boating, jet skiing, kayaking, fishing, waterskiing, museums, sightseeing, sailing
Rhinebeck Aerodrome and Hyde Park are about 45 minutes away.
Waterfalls, hiking, rock climbing, wildlife viewing, swimming and fishing in Catskill Park
Locally, there are also movie theaters, horseback riding and train rides, Woodstock Film Festival,
Shakespeare plays, and walks along the Ashokan Reservoir
