activities and attractions in Souris Prince Edward Island
We fell in love with Howe Bay the moment we saw it! That was almost 20 years ago...
All these many years later, we still marvel at the magnificent scenery of Howe Bay, forever changing
and reappearing... We are pleased to share this amazing place with you!
Plan to walk and explore the deserted beaches, clam flats and vast sandbars...
At low tide, take the canoe over the deep water channel in the middle of the bay to the even greater
expanse of sand bars across the way...
Splash with your little ones into wonderful pools of water left behind by the tide over the sand,
heated by the sun...
Feel the undulating ridges of sand under your feet and run far over the shallow water and into the
surf...
Dive from the sandy point into the deep water of the channel and try swimming against the current or
let it wash you over to the flats...
Then, on a quiet evening, glide peacefully with either canoe or kayak over the still waters of the
bay.
Plan also to enjoy these nearby activities...
BASIN HEAD BEACH (15 minutes from our location): a favourite spot with many of our summer guests,
with beautiful 'singing sands' beach and fisheries museum; most notorious for its arched bridge from
which to jump into the current below with the blesing of the lifeguards on duty;
NORTH LAKE HARBOUR: The Tuna Capital of the World! Home to the giant Bluefin Tuna fisheries and
deep sea fishing expeditions;
ROLLO BAY FIDDLE FESTIVAL(5 min.): Outdoors concerts of traditional fiddle music or 'ceilidh' on
Thursday nights at the Rollo Bay field, home of the talented and well known Chaisson Family! Join
into a wholesome family evening!
The EAST POINT LIGHTHOUSE: Still in use today, the most easterly point on the island! Witness
the 'meeting of the tides'...
GREENWICH DUNES NATIONAL PARK (15 min.): The newest addition to the P.E.I. National Park! A long
hike through gorgeous sand dunes with interpretive path; protected nesting grounds of the piping
plover...
CHAMPIONSHIP GOLFING: Dundarave & Brudenell River (20 min.); The Links at Crowbush Cove (20
min.) ...
FINE DINING: The Inn at Bay Fortune (5 min.), The Inn at Spry Point (5 min.), The Inn at St-Peters
(15 min.)...
AND SO MUCH MORE...
Sally's Beach Provincial Park (5 min.), Lakeside Beach (20 min.), Fortune Front Beach (5 min.)...
Summer theatre, Blueberry picking, Clamming, 'Seal watching' Cruises, Sea-kayaking, Confederation
Trail biking, Bingo (Monday's at Fortune Community Centre!), etc.
