This lovely spacious Mas lies in it's own acres of red, yellow and brown shades of earth that form a
striking contrast with the lush green pinetrees. The Mas has unique 360° views over the Luberon
valleys and is situated in the heart of one of the biggest ochre deposits in the world, Roussillon
is famous for its magnificent red cliffs and ochre quarries. With no direct neighbours this property
is a haven of peace for a big family or adult groups needing a perfect holiday.
The magnificent lounge boasts a superb fireplace for winter fires and lovely sofas to settle into.
Beautiful paintings and objects decorate the room and the pretty covered patio, adjacent to the
lounge, has wide french doors allowing one to admire the view. The spacious sunny covered patio is
also accessible from the kitchen and has a colourful lounge area and table and chairs for meals. The
dining area has a huge wooden table, antique cupboards and soft lighting for a delightful
atmosphere. The kitchen is absolutely perfect and very well equipped with everything one would need
for cooking delicious meals. There is plenty of pretty glassware and lovely local made plates and
dishes. One has access to the front terrace and gardens from all the ground floor rooms.
The Mas has 5 bedrooms, 3 on the ground floor with 2 bathrooms, separate WC and shower room and the
4/5th bedroom share the bathroom on the first floor. The 5th bedroom has a terrace from which one
can admire the views. There is also a laundry area and cellar.
On entering the property you must drive up through the pine forest, there is plenty of parking space
to the rear of the Mas. The sun-drenched pool 12x6m has a security system and fence to prevent young
children from accidents. The super summer kitchen and pool house have barbecue and picnic table
ready for meals by the pool. The lush grass lawns around the pool are equipped with sun loungers for
lazy siesta's under the olive trees.
This wonderful property is ideal for those who want to get away from the crowds and appreciate the
sense of space and freedom that the unusual landscape offers whilst not being very far from all to
visit in this enchanting part of the Luberon.
Roussillon is very animated all year round and there are many shops, cafés and restaurants in the
village as well as the red ochre valley to wander around in. Market day on Thursday is not to be
missed. You will become acquainted with Roussillon's unique natural history while walking along the
ochre pathways. You can also learn about how the ochre is treated and used in the building industry
by visiting the "Conservatoire des Ocres et des Pigments Appliqués", situated in an old ochre
factory. You will be charmed by its atmosphere and must spend time strolling around the picturesque
maze of streets and squares.
The ochre façades of the houses are magnificent, shades vary subtly from light yellow to dark red, a
contrast to the brightly painted shutters and doors. From the bottom of the village to the summit of
the Castrum and its splendid view, Roussillon is definately a charming place to visit!
Numerous artists have been seduced by Roussillon: Jean Cocteau, Carzou, Buffet, and you will
discover several art galleries and studios plus a number of excellent restaurants where you can
appreciate the local food.

Only 45mins from Avignon, Aix en Provence and 1 hr from Marseille Marignane airport, this splendid

All the other famous Provençal villages are close by, Gordes, Lacoste, Bonnieux, Oppède le Vieux and
Menerbes. Everyday you will find a local market to visit unless you are sightseeing in the Papal
City of Avignon or having lunch in Aix en Provence.
Wine tasting trips locally for the Luberon Rosé wines and Cotes de Ventoux and day trips on the
route des vins towards Chateauneuf de Pape, Gigondas and Séguret. Marseille and its Calanques are
not far and St Marie de la Mer still has it's famous Red flamingoes.
