In addition bluegrass musicians are tuning their instruments, talented craftmen are showing off their goods and the good life of summer in the mountains is beckoning those who love the good life. Walk small country lanes and watch birds feed as you listen to the wind and quietude, gaze the stars and sip on your favorite beverage under a furnished covered deck. Our guests don't want to leave. This wonderful rustic mountain home is in a private location near the end of a dirt road and private drive overlooking the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains between Boone and Todd, NC. This home has a large master bedroom suite with king bed on the entry level, large walk-in shower, garden tub and heated floors in the master bath. Fully stocked kitchen has granite counter tops, dishwasher and easily accommodates 2 cooks.
Breakfast area seats 4 and dining room accommodates 8. Gas logs in large rock fireplace in living room help to create a true mountain atmosphere in this rustic mountain setting. Upper level has 3 bedrooms and 1 Jack & Jill bath: One bedroom has 2 double beds and the other 2 bedrooms connected by the bath each have a queen bed. A half bath is also located at the foot of staircase. The lower level of the home has a TV area, kitchen area, queen sleeper sofa, double bed and full bath. A covered porch overlooks the mountains and sloping common area of the property, frequently visited by turkey and deer. 4-wheel drive is needed during ice and snowy conditions. Visit Anderson Mtn. End of road privacy, hiking, mountain biking, and the nearby New
River. TVs are in all bedrooms, Sun room, and downstairs Den. DSL
wireless Internet, outside gas grill, central A/C, washer/dryer, iron, hair
dryers, fully stocked kitchen, blender, coffee pot/filters and most
spices, towels/linens. This property is 1 mile from the New River. Some inner tubes will be available for your use to float down the New River, but bring
extra if needed(dont forget your fishing gear). Wahoos Canoes are
close by (follow River Road to bridge), and Green Valley Park has
play-ground equipment, picnic facility, and soccer fields for kids
and "wanna-be" kids. Hike the Green Valley area or mountain bike its
dirt roads. Travel by touring bike from River Road (1 mile away) to
Railroad Grade Road through Todd (Todd General Store has bluegrass
music certain times during the year) and into Fleetwood in Ashe
County. Swim with the locals at Green Valley School pool in the
summer and get to know the community. Watch for flyers advertising
Pinto Bean Suppers and by all means go!

Todd General Store website has a list of favorite fishing spots and story telling schedule. Site for the High Country Bluegrass Festival is only minutes away. Boone with Watauga Medical Center is only 10-20 minutes away. Log on to Appalachian Summer Festival and Hayes Performing Arts Center websites not to mention Mountain Home Music for a schedule of their events. Fine dining in the High Country and of course Appalachian State University and its awesome cultural and athletic events always offer plenty to enjoy. Boone Golf Course offers 18 hole course to the public and multiple private courses are in High Country area. Boone has a wonderful public library behind the Mast Store in downtown which you must visit. Blowing Rock is only 10 miles away and beautiful West Jefferson with its galleries, restaurants and Christmas tree farms is a beautiful drive if you travel north via Hwy 194 from Todd(check out Christmas in July). The Blue Ridge Parkway is easily accessible from Hwy 421 via Ridge Road/Pine Run). Winter months offer skiing and snow boarding at area ski resorts in Blowing Rock (25 min. away) and Banner Elk (45 min. away). Plenty of shopping is available in downtown Boone and Blowing Rock (contact BR Chamber of Commerce regarding Art in the Park weekends). Visit Valle Crucis and its Wooly Worm Festival in the fall and dont forget Mast General Store while there. Also, while you're in the High Country don't miss Scream Time Ziplines, Grandfather Mountain, Tweetsie Railroad,and of course Horn in the West drama next to Daniel Boone Gardens.
