environment to enjoy a warm sunset.
the view from the pool is fantastic. You feel like you're inside the
sea.
The house has a dining room with a round table that can fit up to 9

by the Mayan . It is completely

to a bathroom. The bed is constructed with two doors very old, from a
house in the historic center of
the city of Merida.
These doors are over a hundred years old.
The second bathroom has direct beach access.
Connected to the side of the house is ?La Terraza Lunar?, or ?The
Moon Terrace?, which is a lovely
patio decorated with palm trees, called ?xit? in Mayan, and irises.
It offers the ideal place to
unwind after a day in the sun and admire the night sky.
The house comes with hot water and gas and TV cable ( SKY ).

The natural beauty of the area is clear, but the inside of the house
is also decorated with the
perfect combinations of furniture and plants to create an exotic
environment, and the house is
designed so that the view of the beach can be admired from anywhere
on the inside.
The azure sea is 86 degrees in the summer months, perfect for
swimming, boogie boarding, and
shelling. The house is located at the border of a fishing town called
Chuburna, which is a non-
tourist area and it is very quiet and private. The gentle, warm ocean
is inviting and refreshing. The
cooling ocean breeze is the perfect air conditioner. Enjoy coffee or
a cold drink sitting out in the
terrace, take a stroll on the beach, read a book or just relax in a
hammock all day long.
You hardly find a house so fantastic....!!!!
We own three beach front houses in this area, and we rent all three.
Please see the other houses: ?
La Tintinki? and ?La casa del Xix?

Best vacation ever

Daniel17 (Gatineau, Quebec, Canada)
Review submitted: June 28, 2011   Date of arrival: June 18, 2011

The place is great and tremendously well located. We had great weather for the week we were there, approximately 38 degrees daily with a nice constant breeze from the gulf.

We enjoyed our daily swim in the private pool and the gulf of Mexico warm water. We had a view of the beach directly from our bedroom, great view.

The place is well equipped with the exception of a laundry and dryer.

We did not have air conditioning and we did not need one given the constant breeze that comes from the gulf during the day and the night.

The owner is really nice and will do everything to accommodate your needs and make your stay a lifetime experience that you will remember forever.

Great vacation overall. We miss Casita Del Chelem!!!

The Perfect Getaway

Wow what a beach house! My wife & I have not taken a vacation in over 3 years until the Casa de Chelem. We found it very relaxing and just what the doctor ordered.
Mauricio was a fabulous host along with his father.
The town of Chelem was fantastic to visit and we found the people very friendly and helpful.
Make sure to visit Taco Mayo by the ballpark, many ex-pats and great food. The Casa de Chelem was the perfect base camp for a vast amount of trips, the only problem is there was not enough time, so we are already planning an longer vist towards the end of the year. And of coarse, back to Casa de Chelem.

Thanks Mauricio and family!

A home away from home, a fabulous beach house,

We thouroughly enjoyed this wonderful house and pool and of course the Gulf.
A very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Loved watching the local fishermen coming and going each day. The sunsets were superb!
Close enough to Progresso and Merida for visits there and shopping.
Particularly enjoyed the Sunday Market in Merida and the entertainment.
Would recommend this type of holiday to those looking for peace and quiet and the ambiance of a very interesting and well equipped beach house.
Cynthia and Barry and thanks to son Stephen who made it all possible.
