Herons Nest in Blountstown

Tranquillity: Get away from the crowds, traffic, tv, telephones. Sit on the porch and watch
the water flow down river or read a book without interruption. Just experience Peace. You may see
a young deer get a drink across the way, or hear the family of wild turkeys on the other side of the
river or see squirrels playing chase in the big tree. This, my friends, is Tranquillity!
Walk down to the dock and watch the fish playing in the water around the boulders. A few more
steps down to another level and you can dip your feet into the water to check the temp. If this is the peace and quite that you are seeking, then Herons Nest is waiting to receive you.

Pets are acceptable with a $100 deposit-refundable if no damage is found.
Smoking outdoors only. We are not equipped for children under six years of age.

This river cabin has one double bed. Air mattresses may be furnished for additional sleeping.
Can sleep 2-4 people using the mattresses. Kitchen has a microwave, small refrigerator, toaster
oven, dishes and tableware. Coffee maker-you furnish your own coffee and fixings. Linens and
towels are furnished. A place to grill is available but you will need to bring your own grill and
charcoal.
The nearest small town is about 20 minutes away. Shopping areas about 30 minutes. Restaurants appx. 20 minutes and grocery about 20 minutes.

Tubing down river is one of the favorite activites in the summer. Tubes furnished upon request.
Canoeing in winter or summer - but you will need to bring your own canoe or boat. A nice boat
landing is nearby and you can leave your boat at Herons Nest dock until you are ready to use it
again. Attractions close by include the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement; the Florida Caverns State
Park; Wakulla Springs. The Gulf of Mexico is a about an hours drive. Tallahasse is also about an hours drive.
