vacation rental description

This newly constructed custom home is just 45 minutes from Yosemite and 1 mile from the historic gold rush town of Mariposa.

Comfortable and clean, my house will accommodate 6 people in bedrooms and up to 10 people total.

It has an easy living, open floor plan with plenty of space to visit, enjoy meals together, or just rest up from the day's adventures.

Historical downtown Mariposa is 1 mile away. Visit the California State mineral museum, or the State's oldest operating courthouse. There are ample shopping opportunities, a variety of restaurants and many excellent antique stores and boutiques.

Public transportation (YARTS) from Mariposa is a convenient, stress-free way to travel to Yosemite. Bus fare includes admission into the park.

This is my home.

With the help of family and friends, I cleared the land and built the house. I have lived in it for the last three years while finishing up the landscaping.

I am visiting friends and relations in Europe this summer and fall, and am making my home available to travelers to the Yosemite area while I am traveling.

The house has been gone over from top to bottom to ensure your stay is pleasurable and trouble free.

New, high quality linens, towels and tableware await your arrival.

Architectural Dream Home

Review submitted: April 6, 2014   Date of arrival: March 21, 2014

This carefully thought out property is simply magical. Surrounded by nature with lots of natural light filtering in and lots of elements of nature inside the home make it so welcoming, relaxing, and a place you will not want to leave. The property owners have created an environment that allows people to enjoy time away. Some of the elements that show you the property owner cares: top notch bedding that is SO comfortable. Top notch kitchen utensils and appliances. Audio system that allows you to pipe in music to finish off the ambiance of your choice. It truly is a unique property just a few minutes outside of the town of Mariposa with access to a number of restaurants, markets, and entertainment. Great place to relax after a day in Yosemite park. I cannot wait to return to this magical place.

STOP LOOKING AT PROPERTIES! You have found the one you're looking for... trust me.

Review submitted: February 24, 2014   Date of arrival: February 20, 2014

Tranquility. Peace. Quiet. Comfort. Balance. I took my family here for a long weekend just to get away and to spend some time in Yosemite. Honestly, I had to drag them kicking and screaming into the park because they just wanted to hang out at the house. This property was chosen and the house constructed by someone with a clear love for nature and the Earth. It exudes Native American spirituality and invokes an immediate sense of well-being and relaxation. The house is secluded and offers plenty of room to roam the hillside where I was joined one morning by a coyote. My girls spent hours outside collecting pinecones the size of cantaloupes, finding quartz, chasing wild turkeys and renewing their sense of wonder that is so easily stifled in our daily suburban grind. The landscaping and outdoor living areas offer an inviting area to relax and take in the sunset (spectacular off the west side of the house) that is surpassed in magnificence only by the nighttime stars. The great room captures light and accepts a gentle breeze. It is place to converse with family, eat, play games or sit and drink cocoa by the fireside. I could go on and on about the Tempur-Pedic mattresses, radiant in-floor heating, kitchen amenities, WiFi etc. The caretaker and owner’s brother, Mike, is extremely friendly and unobtrusive. In short, this place is idyllic. My daughter said, “Dad, I really wished that we lived here.” I replied, “Yes, I do too.”

Great proximity to Yosemite

Review submitted: September 5, 2013   Date of arrival: August 25, 2013

Awesome home! The pictures on the website do not do justice to this property. We stayed there as a base from which to explore Yosemite, about an hour away, but ended up wishing we could have spent more time just hanging out at the house. It is so peaceful and quiet, just a short drive into Mariposa. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and they have the greatest, most organized recycling system I've ever seen. Mike and Al are wonderful hosts--so very gracious and helpful. We highly recommend this property.
