vacation rental description
This property can be rented to include the downstairs 2 bedroom, 2 bath home and upstairs studio apartment or each space can be rented separately. This provides for sleeping from 2 to 6 persons.
Casa Vista Magica is directly on beautiful Laguna Bacalar on the Costera just south of town. The property has a main house as well as a large, second-story studio apartment with separate entrance and stunning views. The main house kitchen adjoins the dining room and living room – all with loads of windows and sliding glass doors for a great view of the lake. The ceilings are quite tall so the house is open and airy.
A very large covered, tiled patio is perfect for relaxing or entertaining and leads through lush lawn down to the palapa-covered dock and lake. The master suite has a large picture window looking onto the lake, built-in king bed and lots of closet space; the attached master bath is large and luxurious.
The guest bedroom is off the dining room and has a large gracious bath, spacious bedroom with built-in queen bed and closets, wall-to-ceiling glass sliding doors, and a balcony with superb view of the lake.
The second-story studio apartment has a private palapa-roofed entrance and provides a 270 degree vista with 160 degrees of lake view. Tiled floors throughout with comfortable full bath and plenty of windows for ventilation and light. The main room has king-size bed with a great view of Laguna Bacalar and a full kitchen with four-burner stove with oven, fridge with freezer, and breakfast bar seating two. Ample closet and storage space; hardwood finishings and furniture, bedside stands with lamps, and storage plus floor safe.
The studio apartment kitchen-bedroom-living area connects by door to the huge outside patio (part covered by palapa roof and part open to the sun), with dining table, chairs, hammock, lights and electricity, plenty of seating in sun or shade, and stunning vistas up and down Laguna Bacalar and across the lake of the rising sun and moon.
house rental amenities
There are few, if any, homes on Laguna Bacalar that offer easier
access to the lake, a more pleasant part of the lake to swim or kayak
in, or are closer to cenotes, beaches, and places for dinner or
drinks. Crystal clear waters make this a swimmer's and boater's
paradise and nature lovers will enjoy the lake's unusual cenote-fed
ecosystem, including the many small fish that cluster in the shade
near shore.
Private, gated parking is easy and convenient; lush lawns, gardens and
grounds surround the walkway leading to the apartment's outdoor
stairs. Casa Vista Mágico is only 300 feet south of Hotel Laguna
Bacalar, with its comfortable bar, restaurant and wireless Internet;
plus Cenote Azul (2 km south) and Restaurant Aluxes (1 km north) are
close by for meals, drinks, and swimming.
activities and attractions in Bacalar Yucatan
Bacalar has a long history, beginning well before European's came to
the Yucatan. For generations a part of the Mayan trade routes, Laguna
Bacalar offered an easy leg in the north-south route between Honduras
and salt producing areas on the Yucatan's northern coast. In the
center of Bacalar is the town square bordered by a number of small
shops on three sides and by the 18th century Fort of San Felipe on the
fourth side.
The Museum of the fort has a rich collection of artifacts and exhibits
that provide a glimpse into the area's transition from Late Classic
Maya period through the "pirate" era and the "war of the castes" to
present day Bacalar. Those interested in Mayan archeology will find a
wealth of sites to visit with 90 minutes. The Mayan Museum in Chetumal
includes exhibits that detail the lives of Mayan people in a number of
different eras and provides great context for seeing the archeological
sites.
For those interested in the lake, one can arrange boat tours, sailboat
rides and rentals, motoski, pontoon boat excursion, birding trips,
tours of Mayan ruins, and more can through Bacalar service providers
found on the Bacalar Mosaico web site.
