completely renovated as a pied-a-terre for the apartment’s Florentine
owners. It is hidden away on a quiet- almost bucolic - courtyard at
the end of a cobble-stone impasse within 50 yards of a bustling square
which houses shops, banks, cinemas, bistros; even the 14th's best
shopping street, Rue Daguerre, is five minutes away.

Light floods in through the huge north window even on Paris's dullest
day. The apartment (55 square meters, second floor which with double
volume
corrisponds to a fourth floor, elevator) is
perfect for two people and a bed in the studio area of the balcony can
accommodate a third. First level: entry, sitting area, dining area,
kitchen, numerous closets; second level: studio area with single bed,
bedroom, closets, bathroom with large shower. The Alesia station of
the main north-south Metro line is steps away as are numerous bus
lines that connect with every corner of Paris.

The joy of the 14th Arrondisement is that it retains its strictly
Parisian flavor with reminders of its artist-studded past still hidden
away in its narrow streets, its many impasses, its cobble-stone
alleys. For walkers, Saint Germain des Pres, the Latin Quarter,
Montparnasse are an easy 20 minutes away and all major museums - the
Louvre, the Musee d’Orsay, Cluny, etc. - a direct and pleasant bus or
Metro ride. For joggers there is an easy run to the Parc Montsouris
where picnics on the grass are not forbidden. Although not as "trendy"
as some Parisiam arrondisements, the XIVth is a delight in itself as
our past tenants have discovered. "Authenticity" is perhaps the best
word to describe the area with, thanks to an excellent transportation
system, all of Paris within easy reach.
