vacation rental description

Le Miccine is a small, American-owned wine estate in the heart of Chianti. It has been part of the
Tuscan landscape since the early 1700s when it served as a "way-station" for travelers requiring a
change of teams on their journeys through the Tuscan hills. Today, Le Miccine produces both fine
wines and a range of related agricultural products.
Le Miccine also offers, on a limited basis, long-term vacation accommodations in the farm's original
stone structure, which has been restored and renovated into a fully modern, quietly elegant
residence, complete with swimming pool and gardens. Unlike many Tuscan rental properties, Le
Miccine boasts modern, safe and ample electricity, water, sewer and central heat. At the same time,
great care has been taken to preserve its Tuscan charm and originality.
Le Miccine's lovely front terrace leads directly into the ground floor Guest Apartment, which
retains typical Tuscan wood-beamed ceilings, cotta floors, and whitewashed walls. The Guest
Apartment features a spacious, tastefully furnished living room with fireplace and a large modern
kitchen with all appliances, including a dishwasher, as well as ample supplies of china and
cookware. The two bedrooms both have queen-size beds and en suite bathrooms. All rooms are large
and furnished with fine Tuscan antiques and elegant upholstered pieces. The completely new
bathrooms combine modern facilities with lovely Italian tiles and antique cabinetry. A third
bedroom with two twin beds may be rented with an additional charge.
The upstairs Owners' Apartment, with living room, dining room, kitchen, two bedrooms and two
bathrooms, may also be available for rental (maximum 4 people). Please inquire about availability
if your party has more than 6 people.

Le Miccine's historic role as a centrally-located way-station between Florence and Siena makes it
the perfect base for touring all of Tuscany without the inconvenience of moving from hotel to
hotel. Le Miccine lies close to the geographic center of Tuscany, half way between the towns of
Radda and Gaiole, two of the three communes of historic Chianti. Castellina, the third commune of
the medieval League of Chianti, is 20 minutes away. Today, these three towns, along with nearby
Greve, define the heart of Tuscany's wine and tourist region. Also within easy reach of Le Miccine
are all of Tuscany's lovely hill towns; treasures of the Etruscan civilization that flourished here
600 years before Christ; the famous wine villages of Montalcino and Montepulciano; and virtually all
of the major Chianti, Brunello, and Vino Nobile wine estates. Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena,
Orvieto, and Assisi are all pleasant, comfortable day trips.
Whether guests are looking for the art of the Renaissance, a quiet time in an idyllic villa perched
in the middle of its vineyards, or outlet shopping, Le Miccine is the perfect spot!
