vacation rental description
Our Costa Rica Vacation Rental Home is located on 120 acres of private rainforest just 10 min. away from great beaches near Puerto Jimenez on the Osa Peninsula. Only a 45 min flight from San Jose and a 10 min taxi ride and you’re here. Our 2700 sq.ft. open air home has a great ocean view with a fabulous swimming pool. The rainforest literally comes right into our home and monkeys & birds pass by each day. Our main level has a great living room, dining and kitchen open air design, and can accommodate any family, group or gathering nicely. The master bedroom is luxurious with a huge California king size poster bed, screened in with a private patio and tropical hardwood floors from fallen trees within the reserve. Outside the master bedroom is a great open air bathroom w/ Jacuzzi tub. The large kitchen includes a Jenn Air Grille, oven, refrigerator and microwave. The monkeys, parrots and hummingbirds visit us daily and the animals literally come right up to our home. Our 2 level / 3 bedroom / 2 bath vacation home is perfect for families, couples and reunions. We also have a separate 3 BR TREE HOUSE for rent on the other side of the property which is completely away from the main house and very private, Also with it's own small garden pool in rainforest! Available separately form the main house or in combination for larger family & friend groups! Read on for more info:
Staying in our Tree House is an “Upper unity “of a lifetime, 5 levels are furnished with exquisite taste and décor, with hot water and electricity. We have created a “Swiss Family Robinson / Elegant Gilligan’s Island “ decorator motif, including amenities such as Egyptian and Turkish linens. You will find staying with us is a“Treemendous” experience, Our 3 bedroom tree house wraps around a giant rain forest tree and boasts wonderful views of Corcovado National Park and The Golfo Dulce ( Sweet Gulf ). All bedrooms have reading lights, and are screened in with small fans to keep you cool. You might need a blanky in the middle of the night as it is much cooler in the canopy than on the ground. One could describe the feeling as “Living The National Geographic Channel- Live!” Where birds and monkeys play around you all day. 10 minutes from Puerto Jimenez, minutes to beaches as well.
At Both Homes Keep Your Cameras Close By
Getting up early and interacting with monkeys and birds is as easy as rolling over in bed or looking over your shoulder. Getting the kids to bring you coffee in bed while you watch the morning monkey & bird show is a must! Many of Costa Rica’s most famous birds and Monkeys visit our home every day. You will be amazed at how close you are to nature. The canopy explodes each day with our resident Titi ( squirrel ) Monkeys performing their acrobatic and gymnastics show as they pass by, over and under our tree house. On occasion The Congo Monkeys will take up evening residency above the house and you can watch them play above the tree house. Truly an animals lovers and birders dream ! Bird watchers are especially entertained by our family of Slaty Tailed and Bairds Trogans living near the tree house. Dozens of Scarlet Macaws, Chestnut Mandibled Toucans, Fiery Billed Aracaris and Blue Crowned Motmots play in and around the tree each day. We also have dozens of Tanagers, Orange Manikins, and hummingbirds galore. So the 360* views will keep you and your cameras busy.
Organic Gardens & Rainforest Reserve
Out in front of our tree house & the main house gardens, you will find Pineapples, Breadfruit, Yucca, Lemons, Limes, Sugar Cane, Oranges, Bananas & MORE. All fruits are seasonal, however, You can ask Wilbur (our caretaker) to help you find bananas, limes, wild cilantro, basil and oregano growing in the garden area year round. Just below our tree house are 2 km of hiking trails through spectacular primary rainforest, up over beautiful ridges, and deep into mysterious tropical canyons. Truly a hikers paradise. Don’t miss the Blue Morph, Bamboo & Ridge Trail and keep a look out for Monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, Parrots, Toucans, Sloths, Coatis and Tayras. Our reserve is only 10 minutes from Puerto jimenez, airport, restaurants and minutes from the beach yet is so secluded you have to see it to believe it. We are not on any airline paths so it is rare to hear anything other than the birds & monkeys & sloths! There is zero traffic at either home & you will not know if anyone is on the property other than you since we have over 120 acres shared only by 3 homes!
Stay with us for your Fall / Winter vacation ! A vacation experience you will never forget. For weeks booked & paid for in full prior to 15 Nov 2009 we will discount $500 from the regular HOLIDAY weekly rate (see rates).

Please note that all rental homes going south towards Matapalo & Carate are off the grid- meaning
solar electricity with low power usage- fans & refrigerators lose power, camera chargers many times cannot be charged without a trip to town & need to be used carefully & sparingly. If you want to be sure of constant power & cold refrigerator you need to look north of Puerto Jimenez. Our homes are built with almost exclusively with recycled, renewable products & all wood used was naturally fallen wood milled right here on our property- the rest was suatainably farmed teak & bamboo. We hire only our local families for cleaning, gardening, guides, etc so all your rental dollars help the local neighborhood economy & we also support our employees to continue their children's education in school. You can help in this endeavor by staying with us.
