Formerly the beach retreat of one of Jacksonville's most famous families, this charming oceanfront home blends period design and antiques with modern conveniences and all the updates to provide the perfect balance of charm and comfort. It's only half a mile from the top-rated Ponte Vedra Inn and Spa, and walking or biking distance to food and fun, including groceries, Starbucks, shopping, and a number of excellent local restaurants for every taste. (Homes in South Ponte Vedra-like so many on this website-are 20-30 minutes away from these conveniences.)

Located in a residential neighborhood, the beach is wonderful -- wide, and mostly private, so you can relax in a lounge chair and watch the pelicans flying overhead in formation, or the dolphins frolicking in the waves. Whether you prefer to surf or fish, walk for miles in either direction, look for shells or sharks' teeth, or just read and daydream, you'll find the perfect spot on our wonderful secluded stretch of beach or shady porch. Full decks on both the first and second floors provide the perfect backdrop to watching the sun rise over the ocean or enjoying an evening drink.

Back inside, a spacious living room (with TV/VCR/DVD and full bar) can accommodate even the largest groups. The open kitchen is a favorite gathering place, with all the amenities you would expect. The dining room has a large farmhouse style table, perfect for memorable gatherings with family and friends. There is even a dimmer on the chandelier to set a perfect dining mood.
A complete laundry room and full bath with oversized shower on the first floor offers outside beach access for changing after your day on the beach.

Upstairs, you'll find four comfortable bedrooms including two master bedrooms, one with a king and the other a queen, each with en suite full baths and TVs, overlooking a large deck and the ocean below. The third bedroom boasts a queen and the fourth is a kids' delight, with three twins . Both share a spacious full bath in the hallway. Plus, there is full futon bed on the glassed-in porch. This warm, spacious and comfortable home sleeps nine and can accommodate up to twelve with a couple of air beds or sleeping bags for the kids.

Book a massage, go golfing, or visit nearby St. Augustine for the day, exploring cobblestone streets, the colonial fort, the Alligator Farm, and the lighthouse. Other possible destinations include Daytona and Disney World (2 hours). But our bet is that you'll choose to spend most of your time right here, enjoying the pleasures of this lively beach town during the day, and falling asleep to the roar of the ocean each night.

What a great vacation! We loved the location - everything we could want was less than
5 minutes away, but the house and beach were very quiet and secluded. The decor was
totally charming and it had everything we needed. The upstairs deck was the perfect
spot to read and watch the waves. We'll DEFINITELY stay again!

We wanted to get away after Christmas and at the last minute found "Atlantic Star"
and loved it. We really lucked out with the weather, and were able to sit out on
beach most days. With some fantastic restaurants right up the street, we didn't have
to drive more than 1/2 mile for dinner, and could have walked. Very cozy and comfortable
accommodations made it feel like home. Highly recommended.
