Beware!

We came into town for a soccer tournament and were happy to find a place that would rent for 2 nights, due to a cancellation. Full payment and seperate check with a security deposit were sent several weeks before the rental. Both checks were cashed immediately. The location of the house was great, however it was small and had a very inconvenient layout. To reach the largest bedroom, you had either pass through another bedroom, or the bathroom. It says the house sleeps 6, but they are counting the livingroom couch (which does not pull out) as a bed. We spent little time in the house. On the last day, we noticed that one of the plastic kitchen chairs was broken. The plastic was cracked and a piece was actually broken off. One of the girls tried to sit in it and ended up on the floor. We had to be out early, so we cleaned up and left. Two weeks after our trip, I got a check for security deposit with $75 taken out. They subtracted $75 for the broken chair. The property manager insisted that he had checked the residence after a cleaning crew left and before we arrived and that the chair was not broken. He was obviously lying. Not only did he lie, but to charge $75 for a plastic chair that can be purchased at the grocery store for $9.99 is outrageous! I wonder how many people he has charged $75 for that same chair! I guess we are lucky that he did not charge us for the razor sharp broken kitchen floor tiles or the gum embedded in the carpet of the bedroom. I would advise against sending any money to these people!

Owners response: In response to the review written on our property at 17 angell rd narragansett r.i. We have been renting this house for 30yrs we have never had a complaint.I would never lie about a chair, this not a $10.00 chair that can be replaced in bennys , this is part of a set and can't be duplicated. We went out of our way to accomodate these people we hardly rent for 2 nights. There were more people in the house then they said they would be. The house was not left in clean condition the cleaning team had to spend extract time cleaning. The house is always inspected when the tenants move out the chair was not broken when the previous tenants moved out.If the chair was broken when checking in they would have reported it.///////////
