Katahdin Getaway in Katahdin Region

This quiet getaway is nestled amongst the trees, in the heart of the Katahdin region of Maine, just minutes from the highway, yet with no neighbor in sight. Relax in peace and quiet andlet the world unwind before your eyes. This property is located 80 miles north of Bangor, and 40 miles south of Houlton (and of course the Canadian border). As you sit on the deck (the one in the front
of course; the one off the master bedroom is a quaint respite amongst
the trees), or relax in the living space in front of the fireplace
the mountain is never far away; Katahdin and its majestic splendor
are always within breathtaking view.
The house has a large open concept layout, affording one an enjoyable
living/dining experience. The Kitchen has the normal appliances, and
the three bedrooms have five beds between them; the master in
possession of a queen, the next largest a full and a twin, and the
smallest two twins. Each bedroom has sizeable walk-in closets.
There is one spacious bathroom as well.

All linens, coffee maker, blender, microwave, full kitchen, gas
grill, 2 decks (a large one overlooking Katahdin, and a smaller one
off the master bedroom), stone fireplace w/pellet stove insert, 3
twin beds, 1 full, and 1 queen bed. Amongst the forested landscape
surrounding the chalet is a fire pit; there is also covered parking
for two vehicles, and a two car garage under the chalet. If you have
more vehicles/trailers, there is ample space for them as well.

Each season is unique in Maine, and there is no better place to
explore from. This beautiful state offers one many possibilities,
from the ocean to mountains, and all are accessible from this
location. This chalet, nestled in the highlands of Maine, is
an excellent starting point to any area of interest. For starters,
Katahdin is not just a picturesque landscape focal point; this chalet
is just outside the northern entrance of Baxter State Park, a
wilderness area that is a jewel, with its crown being Katahdin. In
addition to the many mountains the park boasts, there is excellent
fishing, swimming, etc there as well.
The highlands boast many lakes, and all afford one the opportunity to
fish, ski, tube, kayak, or even whitewater raft; the possibilities
are endless. If during the warmer months, ATVing is your passion,
there are access points to the area's multitude of trails.
Of course if you wish to spend time at the ocean, Bar Harbor, and all
points coastal can be driven to within a few hours; and not
forgetting our Canadian neighbors, the maritime area and specifically
the Bay of Fundy, with its largest tides in the world are not out of
the question as sites of interest.
Once fall and winter arrive, the area then transforms into a
wonderful panorama splashed with every color of the artist's
palette. And of course, hunting for any variety of game is not to be
missed. When winter's bite is strong, snowmobiling is king (ITS
trail entry is literally down the road); utilize this chalet to
overnight as you cruise the trails that crisscross the landscape.
It is easy to see that this area is truly a four season vacation
destination, and it is impossible to list every attraction available;
it is fair to say that if you are interested in a quiet respite, with
access to all things outdoors then this chalet is just what you have
been looking for.

We require a Security Deposit of $500.00 within 7 days to confirm and
hold your reservation, with Full Rental payment due 30 days prior to
arrival. The security deposit will be returned within seven(7) days
of checking out, if the home is left as you found it.
Cancellation policy: We will retain the deposit if we are unable to
re-rent your week(s).
