Our Lake George vacation rental cottages should be your first choice in your search for the perfect Lake George vacation rental! Our properties are located on Kattskill Bay, a very secluded area on the east shore of Lake George. Our Lake George vacation rental guests will enjoy a quiet forest setting while only minutes from Lake George Village for shopping, restaurants and recreation.  If you play golf, The Top Of the World Golf Resort and Queensbury Country Club are within 7 miles of the cottages. Other areas of interest include: The Great Escape (a Six Flags amusement park), Saratoga Racetrack and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.  Boat launch is at Fischer's Marina which is within walking distance of the cottages.  Cottages are located on the road leading to hiking trails for Buck Mt. and Pilot Knob Mt.

I found the Homestead by reading about it here at Vacation Rentals - and it entirely lived up to its advertising! The house is kept spotlessly clean, is warm and cozy (but cool and comfortable on summer days), and furnished with every possible amenity: comfortable beds, TV, WiFi, DVD player, books and games, cooking supplies, and so on. It's not "in the thick of things" as something closer to Lake George Village would be, but I love the peace and quiet of being further up the lake, and it's only a short drive (15-20 minutes) to town. If you're looking for a quiet getaway to swim, go boating, rest and relax while you enjoy the stunning scenery, this is the place to choose! The wide porch has a spectacular view of the lake, and two of the bedrooms also have lovely views of the water.

There is a small convenience store within walking distance if you don't mind a bit of a hike (perhaps a 5 minute drive) for newspapers, coffee and light grocery shopping.

The owners are truly lovely people, very responsive to questions or requests. I recommend this property without hesitation, and am very much looking forward to returning in summer 2012!

Recommended for: age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, sight seeing, romantic getaway

There's no place like......

The "Stepping Stones Cottage" on Kattskill Bay is more than a cottage...it's a home.....My son and I never wanted to leave the house because of it's "in the forest" beauty nestled perfectly on a hill between high trees with a lake view behind them....there are huge windows in every room, a high ceiling which makes the house feel enormous and better yet you are eye level with tree tops. The screened in porch is as long as the house with fantastic "high" adirondack chairs, which are owner made! The house is fully equipped with anything you may need including cable tv and wireless internet. More paramount, it is pristine clean! The views from every room, including the basement level are fantastic, what Lake George is all about. The lake front boathouse has a great high top sun deck or you can relax below in more adirondack chairs with cushions. My son went swimmimng out to the sailboat mooring and claimed the lake was warm on 9/29.......the owners have renovated this long time family owned lake front "camp" property with much love in their hearts. The adirondack decor from wind chimes to antique furnishings and ornaments, sheds with flower boxes, continued to impress and comfort us while we relaxed.......
I tried to leave a deposit for the summer but we think it's booked for the 2012 summer! :( This rental is not to be passed by.
Hopefully we will return soon!
