If you are looking to escape to the Bavarian village of Helen and the
North Georgia Mountains but desire privacy and elegance with
fantastic views, look no further. No rough dirt roads or SUV's needed
to access our home, our 4 years new private cabin-style home is
located just off highway 384 in an upscale mountain community with
views that take your breath away! While many travelers are sitting
in traffic to get thru Helen, you'll be unpacked and sipping a
drink from either the front porch rocking chairs as you watch the
sunset over Mt. Yonah or relax on the back deck enjoying the privacy and overlooking the privately owned 17 acre woods. The stars are breathtaking at
night from the hottub and deck (hence the name - Starlight Drive).
The floor plan is perfect for couples looking for a romantic get-a-
way, 2 couples or the entire family with a special kids room with
everything from games, toys and DVD's, with bunk beds, TV, DVD/VCR/Play Station and everything children would love! The home can be rented as a 1,2, or 3 bedrooms. This is our private home and not your typical rental cabin, so every touch has been with loving care and since we live and entertain here, we consider it our dream mountain home. We always welcome the discerning guests who will care for and appreciate it as much as we do. So, wake to the sounds of chirping birds and watch the deer meander thru the yards in the
morning and after you've taken in the fresh mountain air, head off to the
hundreds of actvities the Helen area has to offer or simply relax at
home enjoying the DVD's, CD's, Videos, games, and books which are
abundant. This is a home filled with everything you could possibly
need for a great vacation in a home setting enjoy and the fireplace which heats up instantly! Every season has something special to offer, but no matter the time of year, you can count on coming home to a real home every night and feeling like you're staying with family.

Dining Room - Dining table has 6 chairs but easily seats 8 overlooks sliding doors to back deck (17 acred woods)and overlooks also TV/entertainment area 
Front Porch - 2 rocking chairs w/table overlook Mt. Yonah, numerous trees attract nature to our yard from cardinals, bunnies, deer, and seasonal hummingbirds!
Back Deck - New table and 4 chairs w/ umbrella, Gas BBQ grill, new Esclipse
Hottub (seats 4) w/ built in waterfall that changes colors, all
overlooking the 17 acre woods and in fall and winter the Georgia Mountains.
The undeveloped woods behind us sometime bring the local deer to
graze in the morning and evenings.
Laundry room has oversized capacity Maytag washer and dryer. We provide all laundry soap, fabric softner and dryer sheets.
We also provide dishwasher/ing, hand and bath soap, starter shampoos and conditioners as well as all paper and plastic products (toilet paper, paper towels, napkins and garbage bags).
Our 2 car garage is hidden behind the cabin and provides easy access to the home for unloading luggage or groceries. A remote door opener is available for your use. The welcome foyer cove contains activities brochures and sample menus from the many local restaurants, maps and a book telling you about our home.
Most importantly - you will always be greeted personally upon arrival (except for very late arrivals wherein we meet you the following morning) to be given the keys and shown about the home and someone will always be available should you have any questions. We pride ourselves on customer service and although this is a private residence and not a commercial property, we believe you will find it reflects our love of the home and the area. There is a fully monitored security system although definately not necessary to set while staying in the crime free community of Sautee-Nacoochee/Helen. (We only set it when the home is vacant)
We also have high speed internet access via ethernet or USB cable (provided). One time $20 fee for use during entire stay.

The North Georgia Mountains boast some of the greatest activities the south has to offer including:
Unicoi State Park, fishing, hiking, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, horseback riding trails, golf at (Innsbrook course), antiquing and of course meandering through Helen and it's quaint shops and restaurants is a fun as well. For the little girls in the family, there is The Cabbage Patch Kids Hospital and the area is steeped in rich Native American history including the legend of Sautee and
Nacoochee. Of course, the Appalachian Trail begins practically in our backyard. Our best suggestion (although we have many brochures) is to stop by the Visitor's Center in Helen where personal staff can direct you all over the North Georgia area. The Sautee Nacoochee Arts and Cultural center offers musuems with local artists works, jewelry, pottery, a Native American Historic center and the "Evening Star Series" held monthly with Folk and Acoustic artists from
across the country performing in an intimate and wonderful theater. But after a day of sightseeing, coming home to sit out on the porch or deck and watch the sunset over the mountains can't be beat and is by far, our favorite thing to do. Pick a DVD or Video, have a drink, take a hottub and get a great night's sleep and you can start all over again the next day!

2009 September/Fall Discounts - Due to the financially challenging times we are all experiencing, we would like to do our part by offering fair discounts to encourage couples and families to get-a-way from it all in a beautiful and affordable family home and location. (see details below)
This home can be rented as a 1 bedroom/1 bathroom (double occupancy)with 2 bath includes small xtra clean fee- $10), 2 bedroom/2 bathroom (Party of 4), or the entire house as 3 bedrooms/2 bathrooms
(up to 4 adults, 2-3 children + one small child or baby).

Rates reflect the options below:
Weekly rates are strongly encouraged for the best value. The rates and seasonal schedule are as follows:

Ocktoberfest/Holidays mid September in 2009 - Mid November)

This a private home, not a commercial property. All rentals are subject to GA State Occupancy Tax of 7% and a onetime outcleaning fee which depends on the # of bedrooms/baths rented. ($50 min - $100 max)

 A FULLY REFUNDABLE security deposit is due when balance of rental is paid ($500) and will be refunded 2-3 weeks following departure and inspection. Deductions from security are detailed in our reservation package, but can include excessive cleaning, damage to home, smoking in home, more guests than agreed upon and paid for. All guests must be at least 25 years of age (excluding the children of course) and provide a copy of driver's license along with reservation payment. Cancellations with 60 days notice will receive a full refund of reservation deposit. Cancellations without at least 30 days notice will forfeit a minimum of one night's stay unless property can be re-rented in which case all deposits are fully refunded. If property cannot be re-rented, we will apply the reservation deposit toward a future booking. Please call for questions regarding cancellation policies which are more specifically outlined in our reservation package.
