Ideal location & spectacular view!

Review submitted: August 9, 2014   Date of arrival: July 23, 2014

We spent 10 days in this amazing home with our family and it could not have been better. Our grandkids were crazy about the pool and we took full advantage of the jacuzzi. We never tired of watching the waves, especially since they were often filled with the most vibrant schools of fish. So many great beaches were just a short drive away and all of the equipment we needed was available for some awesome snorkeling adventures.
Since we ate in most of the time, it was great to be within 20 minutes walking distance to Kailua-Kona and the fresh produce market. One of our few dinners out was at Quinns and the food/service couldn't have been better and at very reasonable prices.
The house was open and airy; how we loved the ocean breezes. Everything was in great working order and the few times we had questions or minor maintenance issues, Chris was at our beckon call. We couldn't have asked for a more congenial and helpful host.
We encourage anyone looking for the perfect vacation spot to jump at the opportunity to stay at this wonderful home.

The perfect home in Kona!

Review submitted: July 29, 2014   Date of arrival: June 5, 2014

This home is just perfect from every consideration! The house is comfortable with great beds, large bathrooms, well stocked kitchen with outdoor gas BBQ, beach gear, bike, pool and jacuzzi - anything that you would need for an enjoyable stay with or without the kids. The location can't be beat as it is walking distance into town and the beach with a spectacular sunset from your backyard. And the owner Mark and property manager, Chris were perfect hosts.

I was there is celebrate my 40th birthday and when I arrived, there was a bottle of wine and balloons to welcome me. Such a sweet gesture that just marked the generosity and kindness that really makes this property amazing!

The beds were comfortable. The linens and towels clean and new. The kitchen was equipped with everything you needed to make a wonderful meal. The pool was wonderful for the kids and the adults could lounge in the jacuzzi to watch the sunset. The pool cleaner comes every Thursday to clean the pool. The property was immaculate and well maintained! You could take the bike and ride up and down Ali'i drive and visit the beaches and sites.

Chris and his wife were available to help with anything and went out of their way to make my stay not only comfortable, but wonderful. Anything and everything I needed was taken care of....You don't need a concierge from the Four Seasons when you have Chris!!

I didn't want to leave and will definitely be coming back next time!

Thank you Mark for opening your home to me!!!

I haven't even left yet, and I have to leave a review!

Review submitted: July 17, 2014   Date of arrival: July 13, 2014

Where do I start? I guess from the beginning...

When my sister-in-law first found this property on VRBO, she sent it to me and I was sold. This was our dream vacation and 10 year wedding anniversary. I have always wanted to stay at an ocean-front or beach-front property.

When I contacted Mark, he was very prompt and friendly. He asked me if I had Facebook, which I thought was strange. He insisted on checking me out, which was a first (I have rented many properties around the world using VRBO and Air BnB). When he said, "I just want to know who it is that is staying on my property", it actually made sense. It also eased my mind to know that this person really cared that much, because if I owned this place, I would probably do the same thing!

I was in contact with Mark the whole time from booking to arrival to even today (2 days before checking out). The minute we arrived on the Big Island, I texted him to let him know we had arrived. He asked Chris (the property manager) to prepare the place for our arrival. As soon as the house was clean, Chris texted to let me know it was ready a bit earlier than the check in time of 4 pm. When we got the the house Chris greeted us and opened the doors. My jaw immediately dropped. In the words of my sister "OMFG! OMFG!" This house is UNREAL. The vacation home rental of my dreams. Just look at the pics! They don't lie. There were body boards, a bike, snorkelling gear, beach mats, beach umbrellas, fresh cutlery, a fridge that made ice and filtered water, comfortable beds, a sick portable BOSE bluetooth speakers, binoculars for dolphin spotting (we saw a large pod on our first morning here), clean grounds, clean pool, working hot tub, outdoor showers, recycle bins (you would be surprised how rare this was), WORKING WIFI (again, rare for some reason), a giant smart TV with Netflix (rare), cool little creatures like snails, geckos, frogs and crabs that visit the backyard at night. The best part was (and most important to me) the place was immaculately clean. Chris and his wife really care about what they do and you can tell. There is nothing worst than walking into a dirty property no matter what the view looks like. A dirty property ruins everything. This house is well kept, even though there is a lot of rust due to sea spray (which no one can do anything about).

Mark and Chris have been nothing but a pleasure to deal with! You won't be disappointed if you rent this place!
