Mana Kai Maui, Spectacular Top Floor View. in Wailea

Our family had a wonderful time in unit 809 (top floor) at the Mana Kai Maui. We had the top floor view which is breathtaking. Another really nice thing was that we also had an ocean view from the 2nd bedroom and you have to be on the top floor to get that. The owners provided everything including high speed internet, 2 flat screen televisions and their remodeled kitchen had much more counter space than most all the other units. The master bed was incredible. Most comfortable bed we have ever slept on...all memory foam. Plus the Mana Kai surely has the most spectacular beachfront location anywhere on Maui. Around 2 miles of uncrowded gorgeous beach and the amenities at the Mana Kai were great. The beachfront restaurant was wonderful and we enjoyed Happy Hour with half price drinks and pu pu's at the bar. They also had a Shushi bar which we really enjoyed. There was a travel desk which was convenient for a couple of tours we chose. One of the real conveniences was the beautiful Deli which was open until 9:00 PM. A country store was also part of it and that was very handy. We surely would recommend this 809 unit and the helpfulness of the owners who thought of everything for us.

Can't imagine a better view!

My husband and I were planning to visit Maui for the first time. We checked out VRBO and found unit 809 at the Mana Kai Maui. We emailed the owners, Marilyn and Ken and they got back to us immediately with all the information we needed. They were so helpful and friendly. We found out a few days later that relatives of ours had actually stayed in the very same unit several times and had only good things to say. So we booked. This condo was on the top floor and had the most amazing view. That alone made our trip memorable. So many mornings I got up early just to sit on the lanai and watch the sun come up and the waves crashing on the black lava rock below. The view is just unbelievable, breathtaking, amazing…..you have to see it for yourself. Pictures just don’t do it.
The condo itself was perfect. All the comforts of home and everything we needed, including small coolers to take our snacks and drinks on our outings. Great king sized bed where we got a great breeze every night through the floor to ceiling screen doors. My husband loved the leather chair and ottoman the few times we relaxed INDOORS. We cooked breakfast almost every morning and enjoyed it outside on the lanai. What a way to start the day. A morning walk on the beach every day quickly became part of our routine. Never have we seen such a clean beach, no litter, only footprints and not crowded at all. Also the Mana Kai has a fantastic location, right on the beach where you can sleep at night with the soothing sound of the waves crashing below.
We rented kayaks one day right on the grounds and planned all our activities for the week with the very help of the travel kiosk. The people there were very pleasant and full of helpful tips. We booked a luau that was just up the beach at the Marriott and our Road to Hana tour and we got a map and some great tips on driving to the Haleakala crater ourselves to see the sunrise. Very convenient and the people so helpful. We ate at the 5 Palms open air restaurant for lunch one day and even got sandwiches at the deli another and sat on the lounge chairs by the beach to enjoy them. I was able to pick up a few post cards and stamps at the deli too which was a real convenience.
Just a couple blocks from the main road made checking out the rest of the island very easy. And only a very short drive down the road to some really good restaurants and shopping rounded out the trip.
The condo, the location, the amenities…….all wonderful.

Recommended for: age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway

Went to Maui for family vacation, wedding and birthday celebration. Rented this condo as a gift for the bride and groom. Checked in and there were ants piled up near the lanai sliding glass doors. We contacted owner via email and he was prompt and scheduled cleaning for the very next day but we cleaned ourselves. Floor was dirty. Bathroom sink clogged. Not sure if the housekeeper failed to sweep floor but we had too. In any event after the ant incident the rest of the stay for the newlyweds was fine. The condo is not upgraded in comparison to the other two units we had but we were able to comfortably get ready for the wedding, had hair and makeup stylist come to the condo. The view is amazing...so if you don't care about stainless steel appliances, Tommy Bahama furniture and sheets, and are ok with maybe sweeping up an ant or two this is a good value.
