Northcliffe cottage, built in the early 1900s, commands magnificent
views to the North, East and West over its rock-bound shore line.
This waterfront property is located on the northern shore of the
Island, a seven minute drive from the ferry landing. There are 3
bedrooms upstairs and a kitchen, living room, dining room and bathroom
& shower downstairs which open onto a (partially screened in)
wrap-around porch . The cottage is accessible from the parking area
down a short dirt pathway for the nimble or a longer grass pathway for
the less sure-footed.

house rental amenities
This is a basic island cottage of the 1920s era and is located in a
quiet section of the island. Modern conveniences include cable TV,
DVD, AM/FM /CD player, free digital phone service to all US and
Canada. Kitchen equipment include a four burner electric stove/oven,
refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, coffee maker and toaster and the
normal supply of eating and cooking utensils. There is a wood stove
in the living room to take the chill off on cool, foggy days. The 3
bedrooms each have double beds and two have additional single beds,
sleeping 8. It is requested that renters bring their own bed linens
and towels. Charcoal grill. Waterfront lawn for sitting, sunbathing
etc. Short walk to the beach.

Peaks Island offers many activities for young and old including
several good restaurants, the Fifth Maine Civil War Museum, island
tours, bike rentals, kayak school and rentals, tennis, sailing,
Library,Health Center, horseback riding, interior hiking trails, a
launder mat. The shore road around the island is about 5 miles and
has many stop off places for picnics, and exploring the rock
formations. World War II fortifications are worth a visit. There is
an island grocery store which claims -If we dont have it you dont
need it.

All other times @ $1000 per week
Rental week begins Sunday noon and ends Sunday, 10 AM. Can be adjusted
to fit schedules
