We are on a peaceful family residential block that happens to be steps from everything. We have children and families living there, the fruit and vegetable carts calling out every morning. We seek travelers welcome to be a part of that but not disrespect it with noise and disruption. We are not for everyone, but we are very very special. Foodies, families, Girls weekends, Reunions. Beautiful complete rebuild of an historic 1840s New Orleans home.

This is actually two units, one just above the other, with a large private common deck just our the back door with a wonderful shade tree and a catwalk with views overlooking the Marigny and French Quarter all the way to the Mississippi. We have a 2BR/1BA unit and a 1BR/1BA unit that can be combined for larger parties (4 Bedroom 2BA), on a QUIET residential street that happens to be steps to the Quarter and Frenchman street. 4 blocks to Bourbon but retire to a peaceful beautifully renovated oasis.

TOTAL of 5 queen beds, 4 bedrooms, 2 enormous bathrooms each with stackable LG washer/dryer. Each unit features hardwood floors and tiled bathrooms.

The downstairs 2BR has 12 ft high ceilings. We have been doing vacation rentals for 4 years but have just completed the complete renovation of this property October 1, 2013. We had several bookings before we were listed and photos were taken. It is an amazing experience in a fantastic location, steps from Storyville, Congo Square, Louis Armstrong Park, and Cafe du Monde is a 10 minute stroll. We are 4 blocks from Bourbon Street.

Fell in Love

We just spent 3 fantastic weeks in New Orleans (NAWLINS) thanks to the fabulous accommodations and location! The "tree house" was bright, modern, comfortable, quiet and perfect for working (fantastic internet), eating (a full kitchen) and sleeping (the most comfortable bed ever). We had friends join us for a weekend and the queen size murphy bed in the large kitchen magically transformed the kitchen into a comfy guest room! The location was exactly what we were looking for - tucked into a quiet neighbourhood, close to Frenchman Street (our favourite) and easy walking distance to the French Quarter. We rented bikes and took day trips to Algiers, City Park, the Garden District and more. There was jazz in the Louis Armstrong Park on Thursdays & Saturdays....a very short walk.

Dave, our host, provided us with great suggestions for exploring the city and the restaurants. He was very prompt responding to my text messages and his assistant, who we met on arrival, was very friendly and helpful. Dave also provided a great recommendation for getting to & from the airport.

We relaxed & read on the private catwalk - and just before we left, a new deck was installed under the big tree in the backyard - another great outdoor place on the property.

We fell in love with the city and would definitely stay at the tree house again, in a heartbeat!

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

Great location, perfect size, nice deck/backyard area to hang out

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was absolutely perfect. If I were to live in New Orleans, that might be the area to be. We saw so much live music, danced, ate delicious food, walked all over the city, and even fit in church at Zion Hill right around the corner (which we found recommended in a Frommer's guide: The Best Authentic Experiences in New Orleans | Frommer's )(note-it is a little awkward, but they were very kind and inviting). I was so exhausted by the end I think I'm only now feeling fully recovered.
We left a camping chair there for your future guests; we found it was crucial for Jazz Fest.

This was by far my best vacation ever. Everything came together just perfectly. Now back to my diet. =)

Recommended for: girls getaway, sight seeing, tourists without a car

Jazzfest home base

Myself, my husband and two friends were fortunate to find this place for our week of in New Orleans for jazzfest. We didn't want to stay in a hotel as we wanted to option to cook, sit in a yard and relax. This place was great. Very nicely remodeled and modern. Super spacious with high ceilings. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was nice too. Walking distance to Frenchman's street, French quarter and Bywater. Tons of nearby restaurants and bars. Short cab ride to fairgrounds for jazzfest. The only aspect that wasn't great was that it was located on the edge of 7th ward, which is a little sketchy. Really only had to through a bad area once to get groceries. However we never felt unsafe. Everyone in the neighborhood was friendly. I would definitely stay again.

Owners response: The issue of the grocery store is something I'm torn about. Since we opened I have always warned people not to head into the Seventh Ward. HOWEVER, in the past 2 months the oldest grocery store in New Orleans reopened for the first time since Katrina. The supermarket isn't open later than 7p, and while the path to and from are absolutely safe esp during the day, there are some houses that never came back after Katrina and i could see where it would make guests wary. It is the only real supermarket and guests LOVE the experience. So I figure the pros outweigh the cons, but in future I'm going to do a better job of communicating that to guests because the area is ridiculously safe all around here and in the directions most guests will head (riverside Marigny and French Quarter).
