Quickly the cabin opens up to a spacious great room area with high
beams in the cathedral ceiling and includes comfy seating with plump
pillows and accent lighting for a romantic touch. You’re sure to
enjoy relaxing by the crackling fire in the massive stone wood-
burning fireplace on those cool Carolina Mountain evenings. Or, just
open a window on a sunny day and listen to the sound of the creek
trickling by. A large 42” flat-screen plasma TV is located in the
great room and provides the ultimate entertainment for the true TV
lover wanting some pure relaxation while on vacation. You’ll be able
to choose from over 280 channels in “AMERICA’s EVERYTHING Package”
including 31 commercial-free premium movie channels including
Showtime, HBO, Cinemax, Starz, Encore, all ESPN’s, Fox, NBA, NFL,
Speed Channel, NBC, CBS and ABC, Outdoor Channels, Turner
Broadcasting, and Sirius Music channels. The cabin also includes
wireless DSL internet access so bring your laptop along if you wish.
The open and fully equipped “rooster-themed” kitchen features new
appliances including refrigerator with in-door icemaker, smooth-top
range, and a dishwasher for easy clean-up after a meal, along with a
laundry area. Each bedroom is charmingly decorated in antiquity along
with modern appeal and comfortable bedding including all linens. The
master bedroom features touches of red for a romantic feel and opens
up to the a spacious sunroom – perfect for reading that book you’ve
been meaning to read. The pillow-top mattress and luxurious bedding
make relaxing all the more easy to do! The flat-screen TV offers the
same 280 channels to choose from – so you can treat yourself to your
own choice of entertainment viewing. A DVD player is also available
for viewing movies. The second bedroom offers a comfy double bed and
opens to the bathroom with 36” doors for handicap accessibility and
offers both a tub and shower along with towels, etc. The cabin offers
both electric heat and a Monitor heater for keeping the cabin cozy
and warm, and during the summer and fall seasons there are two window
air conditioning units available for year-round comfort. Outside, the
private yard offers a natural level area for children to play by or
in the creek. The front porch also includes comfy Adirondack seating
with ottomans, another deck with patio table & chairs and a charcoal
grill for enjoying an outdoor meal under the shade. Picture yourself
in the bubbling hot tub. Ahh….this is what vacations are all about!
Take a walk down down the road or hike up the hill with your pet (all
sizes allowed with pet deposit). And when you’re ready to see the
sights you’re close to everything… Boone is a short 17 minute drive,
West Jefferson only 8 minutes away, and access to the scenic Blue
Ridge Parkway is only 5 minutes down the road – where you can take
the short-cut to Blowing Rock and the Tanger Outlets. Other area
attractions include: Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Todd
General Store, canoe rentals, miniature golf, and go-cart racing. Be
sure to visit Ashe County Cheese where you can watch cheese being
made and sample some great tasting cheese at the local cheese store.
