vacation rental description

Set in 5 acres of tall timber, this Park's home offers rustic elegance, comfort and absolute tranquility.

A visitor would never know they were only minutes away from Flagstaff, restaurants and city activities. Choose from the night-life of Flagstaff or the adventures of the Grand Canyon (that is only a 55 minute drive!), mountainbiking, skiing or any number of outdoor activities within minutes of this beautiful retreat. This approx. 2500 square foot home features a master suite, 4 bedrooms, a loft and 2 bathrooms. The 4th room is above the garage which has a private entrance and stairs you can access from inside the garage. It also has a kitchenette. A supplemental wood burning stove adds that cozy touch while a family, or group of friends are nestled in for a late night home movie in this beautifully appointed Casa. The loft is great for kids and the covered porch, just off the living room, is great for BBQ's, boisterous conversations, relaxing evenings....Or just watching the wildlife. You are in the woods! The property backs up against the Coconino National forest, so the only unexpected guests will be the deer and eagles.

There is plenty of space to park an RV, boat or any tow-alongs. The spacious 2 car garage is available to all guests wishing to put vehicles in for the night. And of course....The full kitchen is equipped with everything a vacationer would need. The great room is large enough for some "private space" and a fantastic gathering area to socialize and interact with family and friends.

Special place in the ponderosa pines

Claire F. ()
Review submitted: December 23, 2011   Date of arrival: November 23, 2011

From the moment we stepped out of our car we knew we had chosen a slice of heaven for our family Thanksgiving weekend. The peace and quiet, the smell of the pine trees, and the cozy home exceeded our expectations. The home was well equiped with everything we needed including a wood stove which we used every day. There was a washer and dryer, microwave and everything anyone would need.

We were there to take our family to the Polar Express, and we couldn't have chosen a better location. It was 15 minutes from the Grand Canyon Train Station. In addition, it was 5 minutes from a deer farm where our grandchildren could and did feed the deer.
It is also about 5 minutes from Bearizona, which regrettfully we didn't have time to visit because our grandchildren were having so much fun playing among the pines. It is less than half an hour to Flagstaff and all its attractions

There was a bedroom above the garage which the guys called the "Man Cave" to which they escaped to watch football games without distraction.

The owner was very accommodating, and recommened restaurants etc.

You will love this house!

Lovely Cabin - Cozy and Comfortable

Meredith Alger (-)
Review submitted: December 20, 2011   Date of arrival: December 9, 2011

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It had all the comforts of home including a full sized washer and dryer, working stove and microwave. The bedrooms were nice sizes as well. There was more than enough room for my family to enjoy. And it was great having so much space to play outside. We really got to take advantage of the snow! Our only complaints were that the master bedroom bedding wouldn't stay on the bed (the mattress pad was very cheap and kept slipping off) so we ended up sleeping on a very scratchy mattress each night. And whoever cleans the house obviously doesn't clean up high as there was caked on dust on the ceiling fans, etc. Also it would be nice if they updated the TV's - at least the one downstairs. It's very small and old. But if it hadn't been for those small things I would have given this rental 5 stars. We would definitely rent here again.

Recommended for: families with young children, families with teenagers

Owners response: First of all I am happy you enjoyed your stay and that you definitely would rent here again.
I do agree the mattress pad needed replacing and it was done on the 15th of December. In addition we went out and purchased a long dusting pole to clean the high ceiling fans and lights... Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Most important thank you for your visit.

Beautiful Setting

Sharon (San Diego)
Review submitted: November 30, 2011   Date of arrival: November 5, 2011

Just spent a fantastic week in the beautiful setting of trees and rolling hills. A great place to spend time with family and friends. The house provided all of our needs and even had bits of local information that was extremely helpful. It is secluded but close enough to the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff areas to sight see and shop. We were even lucky enough to see the first snowfall! Very beautiful and peaceful. We will definitely be back!! Thanks, Malcolm, for all of your help!
