New Charming Casita Limon on Beautiful Tulum Beach in Tulum

Wonderful place!

This was our first time renting a house in a different country and it turned out to be a great experience. Our party consisted of our family of 4 (2 adults, 5 year old, and 3 year old) and another adult couple. The house was clean and comfortable, with somewhat funky decor. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, had a stove-top (no oven), and a working fridge (which was a pleasant surprise).

Our family stayed in the master bedroom - we pulled in the fold down couch for the kids to sleep on. The only inconvenience was that the inside entrance to the washroom was through our bedroom. However, there was also an outside entrance to the bathroom that out friends used during the night, so it worked. All of the windows had screens, and while I think our friends had a few night-time mosquitos, we didn't have any. But there were very few moquitos outside anyway. No air conditioning or fans, but that didn't bother us, as there was always wind to keep things cool.

The deck out front was lovely and we spent a lot of time there while our kids played in the sand. There are sea grape trees which provide a lot of shade while still letting in light. There is an ocean view from the house and the deck. The beach is down a very short path, so the place is almost right on the beach. The beach itself was lovely and never busy. Often it was deserted.

There is another house on the property - each place has its own outside space, but there wasn't too much to block the view of the other space. It didn't bother us at all though. The owners were staying in while we were there. They were so friendly and helpful - it was great to have them around. They also were open to negotiating the price (at the time of booking), which made it more feasible for us to stay there.

We generally had breakfast at the house and tried to do some sightseeing early - before the heat and before the crowds coming down from Cancun. Our favourite places were the Coba ruins (definitely go early), Aktun Chen caves, and Yalku lagoon at Akumal. Our friends enjoyed birding at Muyil ruin. Then we'd hang out at the house, rest, and swim until supper time. We usually ate out for dinner. The pizza at Om was fantastic.

For us, with the kids, we needed to have a car. If you wanted to stay put, you could probably do without, but if you want to tour around, a car is pretty necessary. Walking in the heat is pretty exhausting.
