Roaring River Retreat in Ellijay

Riverfront log home on the Coosawattee River located inside gated
Coosawattee River Resort in the North Ga. Mountains near Ellijay,
about 65 miles north of Atlanta. This is the river that inspired
James Dickey's novel, "Deliverance". 3BR, 3BA log home includes hot
tub, satellite TV, foosball, 2 decks, and beautiful view of one of
the widest points of the river. The bedrooms include 1 king and 2
queen beds, each with their own bath. In addition there is a bunk
bed, and a pullout sofa bed. Adults can stay upstairs with
their own TV and deck, while the kids can stay downstairs with their
own TV and deck. Both TV's have Direct TV's upgraded listings.
Enjoy the water activities, relax in the hot tub overlooking the
river, or sit on the deck and enjoy the river (and the occasional
deer swimming across).

All the following amenities are within the resort: 3 swimming pools,
including a year round indoor pool in the Rec Center. Rec Center
also includes workout room, game room, putt-putt course, basketball.
The resort also includes tennis courts, picnic areas, and fishing
pond. Tubing available from May 1 through October (drop off and pick
up downstream). Lots of deer and turkey.

NOTE:  Paddle Georgia is sponsoring a 92 mile trip that begins on the Coosawattee in Ellijay.  Up to 300 kayaks and canoes will be coming by our house on June 20.  Should be great viewing. 

Coosawatte River runs through the middle of resort (and in front of
house). Kayaking is quite popular on river. Golf nearby at Whitepath
Golf Club. Ellijay area includes waterfalls, beautiful scenery, and
southern point of Appalachian Trail. Apple Festival in October is a
major festival in Ellijay.
