Stay at the Mulholland Vacation Rental in Lubec -- the easternmost town in the USA. Our lighthouse vacation rental home is minutes from the historic West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, on the easternmost point of land, where the sun rises first in the USA. The Mulholland Light is visible across the Lubec Narrows, which separates Lubec from Campobello Island in Canada. Massive tides of twenty feet rush through the Narrows, and seals often cavort in the waters during the summer and autumn.

Water Street and the heart of Lubec is just a minute walk from the Mulholland Vacation Rental. Stroll along the waterfront of the Lubec peninsula, a photographer's and painter's paradise. The harbor, still used daily by fishermen, lobsterers and draggers, is at the end of Water Street, with views of Johnson's and Cobscook Bays, Eastport Maine and Campobello Island.

Up the hill is the internationally known music program Summer Keys, which brings acclaimed performers to Lubec for concerts in the summer months. There is also an old-fashioned bandstand, which plays host to a variety of local bands and performers, with a range of music from folk to country to regional specialties. There are several fine restaurants near at hand that specialize in fresh seafood brought in by Lubec's fleet.

At the other end of Water Street is the International Bridge, soaring over the Narrows and joining Lubec to Campobello Island. Over the bridge is the Roosevelt International Park the boyhood home of President Franklin D Roosevelt, now preserved and administered jointly by the US and Canadian governments. Campobello also offers miles of shoreline, several large parks, fine restaurants serving fresh-off-the-boat fish and lobster and a golf course right on the ocean shore. At present, US citizens need a passport or driver license with your birth certificate to cross the uncrowded border. June 1, everyone will need a passport or passcard to cross the border.
