Great Cottage Rental!!

I rented this Cottage with my family and Loved it! Nice size yard for the kids and perfect for a fire & s'mores at night. LOVED the open kitchen! Had lots of fun here hanging out on the front porch, playing games at night, walking to the park & riding our bikes into town. We actually stayed a few summers ago and would rent every summer if it were available the weeks we got to Pentwater. Great Price, Great Cabin, Wonderful renter and all around great experience. Another plus, Our son left behind a blankie and the cleaning woman got in contact w/family in the area to let us know and had it sent to us! Definetly recommend!

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway

Great Rental for a family vacation

My family has rented this cottage for 2 weeks in July for several years now and we love staying there.It is in a nice location near a school with a nice play area and within easy waking distance from the downtown action.The kitchen is roomy and well equipped to cook your own meals or even entertain guests.The owners are very nice and the cottage has always been clean and ready for our arrival.Grama's house also has a nice backyard to play games in yhe evening or have a campfire.Pentwater is our favorite place to vacation.Our kids(now 12 and 15)can ride their bikes to town to explore safely,we can get to Mears beach(a very fun and nice beach)in minutes,and the overall atmosphere in Pentwater and the surrounding area is fun and relaxing.I would highly recommend Grama's house!

The price says it all

I'm sorry to say but that old saying if a deal seems too god to be true it is !
This place was the worst cottage we have ever rented, the place was run down and filthy. The beds must have been 50 years old and the mattress’s were worn out and dangerous for people with back issues like myself.

The owners are apparently so cheap that instead of installing a proper screen door they installed this ( shown on TV ) garbage that did not work.

The living areas were covered in carpeting that was disgustingly filthy and smelled of cat urine, same with the bathroom. The bathroom itself had mold along the bathtub and near the toilet, after taking a shower you wanted to go somewhere else to take another one in case you caught something from this bathroom.

The kitchen was the only area where you could gather in relative comfort but there were little irritants there also, but they can be easily overlooked based on the rest of the places general upkeep.

I would not recommend this property to anyone.

I understand now why the price was 1/2 of what is charged elsewhere in the village but the description posted on this website is not in the least bit accurate.

I would not rate this property any higher than a 1.

Due to the fact that I have lower back problems I have to be somewhat careful what I sleep on, this place has caused such a problem with my back that I'm back into therapy to at least stop the agony, I would have slept on the floor but sleeping outdoors would have been safer due to the carpets. Anyway I’m not happy and I wanted to warn others who might think this is a diamond in the rough, it's not it's a piece of coal.....
