A Place For Us Cottage is the perfect getaway for couples and families alike. Situated in the middle of five secluded wooded acres, a 2 min drive from the Long Harbor ferry terminal and 8 minutes from the quaint town of Ganges. We are within very easy walking distance of local artisan studios, boat moorage and country farms. This home away from home provides the feel of a getaway cottage and the amenities of being at home.

Sit on the 60 foot southwesterly facing deck watching the yachts come and go, Sea Planes land, sunset over the western mountains or/and enjoy a beverage while our resident Deer and Eagles share their lives below and above you. The Cottage is located near great walking trails, quite secluded beaches and settings just perfect for that picnic you have always imagined.

Not only is this Cottage a great getaway but it is a great value.

My family and I have enjoyed both of our stays at 'A Place For Us'. The cottage is very private, in its woodland setting, with a great view from the deck. Although you feel like you're hidden in the midst of a forest, you are only minutes from the town of Ganges. We found lots to do and lots to explore...beaches, artist's studios, the Saturday market and a trip up the mountain for a spectacular view. The cottage itsself is all the description and the pictures portray, and more. Everything is kept in good order, clean and ready for your visit. We found it comfortable, peaceful, restful and great place to get away from all the stresses of life. I highly reccomend it for a weekend getaway or for a longer stay. You won't be disappointed.

Recommended for: adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet-friendly, sight seeing, romantic getaway

We stayed at A Place for us twice and loved it. The cottage is warm and comfortable and extremely well appointed. It has amazing views and a huge deck, excellent for morning coffee or cocktails as the sun sets. The town is charming, with shops, galleries and several fine restaurants. Several shops sell fish just caught, that can be purchased and cooked at the cottage. Hiking is abundant with beautiful views and interesting trails. The home is on five acres and is very private. Salt Spring Island is 30 minutes from Victoria by ferry and an hour or so from Vancouver. A great place to relax and unwind.

We stayed at a Place for Us in February. The property was better than adverstised, very clean and comfortable, and well maintained. Bruce was attentive and followed up with us to make sure we arrived safely and had everything we needed. If we required anything it was dealt with promptly.

The property itself has beautiful views of the harbour. It was quiet and relaxing. There is a family of deer who hang around and kept us company. In the local area there are a number of easy walking trails and the property is a short drive to the main town of Ganges. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable, and relaxing vacation on Salt Spring.

Recommended for: age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sight seeing, romantic getaway
