Beautiful, Spacious Lakeside, Ohio Rental Cottage in Lakeside

A beautiful and spacious cottage nestled in the center of Lakeside, you'll enjoy resting while you watch the world go by from the large front porch. The cottage contains two units which when combined can sleep 20 comfortably. Fully furnished with a total of 3 full baths and 2 kitchens, it's a wonderful home for family reunions or group retreats.

If rented separately, the front unit is a wonderful space for a large family or a couple of families staying together. It has 6 bedrooms (3 on each floor) with two full baths (one on each floor). The modern kitchen is a great place to cook large meals or zap something in the microwave. A washer and dryer makes caring for bathing suits and towels after a day at the beach a breeze. Next to the back bedroom in the downstairs is a wonderful sitting room whose sliding glass door opens to the peaceful back porch, perfect for reading in the morning. The living room has comfortable couches and a pass through to the kitchen. The front porch has additional seating, a pull out couch, and a huge dining table that can seat 12. Great for group meals and putting together puzzles or playing games.

The attached back unit, called the Treehouse, is a great getaway for a smaller family with two bedrooms and a pullout couch, it can sleep up to 6. It has a combination living area and kitchen with an eating area with stools. A full bath with shower is off the kitchen. The stairway creates a private entrance as well as leads to a deck with table and chairs where you can enjoy morning coffee amongst the tree tops.

There is one space of off street parking for each unit in front of the house as well as additional public spaces across the street.

The Chautauqua on Lake Erie, Lakeside is a family oriented community started in the late 1800s as a Methodist campground. It is rich in history and purpose, filled with beautiful Victorian era cottages.

During the Chautauqua season, Lakeside features nightly entertainment. Other activities for people of all ages include swimming, fishing, shuffleboard, miniature golf, tennis, golf cart and bike rentals, quaint shops, restaurants, sailing lessons, and art and cooking classes. The Lakeside Symphony performs during August. The full entertainment extends from mid-June through August. Gate fees apply during the Chautauqua season to cover the costs of many of the activities.

Our cottage is located fairly central to all activities. It is two blocks down the hill to the main venue, Hoover Auditorium. Up the hill a bit, you'll find the main courts and tennis center. The shopping area and restaurants are about 5 blocks away as well as the park and lake. From our front porch, you can see the Rhein Center with arts and crafts for all ages. Most people park their car and either walk, bike or use Lakeside's free transportation, a golf cart system.

Lakeside is a place you easily fall in love with. Our family has been coming for 4 generations. We hope you'll come for a visit. Additional attractions in the area include Cedar Point Amusement Park, African Safari, multiple waterparks, Thomas Edison's birthplace, ferry boat trips to the Lake Erie Islands, Hayes Presidential Center and Walleye/Perch fishing charter boats.

Rent Saturday 3 p.m. to Saturday 10 a.m.

Flexibility in August:

• Able to rent for less than a full week during the remaining open days
• One weekend available in August, 8/23-25, whole cottage $1000 or front unit $800, extra night free

Rates do not include Lakeside Chautauqua activity gate passes, 9.75% taxes, security deposit or parking pass.  Gate passes and parking applicable during Chautauqua season, mid-June through Labor Day weekend.

Rental fees include cleaning at the end of the week and use of our bedding.
