Our tiny coastal town is the one for you! Our Playa Negra cottage is in an exclusive Gated Oceanfront community. We are a 2 min minute Stroll to the beach and snorkeling, & a 7 minute walk to the famous Negra surf break and beachfront dining. Our 3 bedroom home is on the riverfront that encirceles our gated community. This priviledged location offers a special eco environment with an abundance of wildlife (including Howler Monkeys) found only on the river, in an enchanting setting filled with mature indigenous trees (Guanacastes, Maranons, Pachote, Cortez, Guassimo).

Nestled in the treetops & overlooking the Pargos River, our 1200SF guest area(additional 400 sf is private storage area) is perfect for a romantic getaway for two, 2 couples or for a family of 6 to enjoy access to the best of Guanacaste's wildlife: Howler Monkeys, Iguanas, Butterflies, Mapaches, Variegated squirrels, hummingbirds, & an array of birds including Parakeets & Turquoise Browed Mot Mots! The yard is landscaped with grass areas & tropical plants.

Each sun-lit room offers green views of the trees & tropical landscape. The home is decorated with tropical furnishings, cedar armoires & handmade wood doors & windows. The main living area is tree-top height; from the sofas and dining area enjoy a floor to ceiling wall of windows and a view window overlooking the river and Guanacaste trees. The cottage has a beautiful 17' vaulted hardwood ceiling & a galley kitchen open to living and dining area, new granite countertops & stone backsplash. Two bathrooms, one upstairs & one down; feature granite, vessel sinks & spa style showers.

Upstairs, one bedroom features a queen bed, french doors & a balcony overlooking the river. The 2nd bedroom has a Queen bed & standing balcony with french doors. The 3rd queen bedroom is a downstairs suite with a separate entry & bathroom, and 2 sets of glass doors that overlook the river & tropical landscape. Palm Blade Ceiling fans throughout & the luxury of A/C for night-time.

Our peaceful gated community is a 7 minute walk to the famous Playa Negra surf break from the movie Endless Summer II. We are 15 minutes from a zipline canopy tour and mountain horseback tour, 40 minutes S. of Tamarindo (Shopping, Deep-Sea Fishing, Night-Life), 20 minutes S. of Hacienda Pinella (World Class Golf), 10 minutes S. of Playa Avellanas (On-The-Beach Dining & Beginner to Intermediate Surfing/ Lessons, Shell Collecting), 1.5 hours S.W. of the Liberia Airport (Beautiful drive filled with Floppy eared cows, horses & Guanacaste Trees), 1 hr N. of Marbella (Hollow Sand-Surf Break), 45 minutes W. of Santa Cruz (Nearest Bank, Post-Office & large Grocery) and 4.5 hr Gorgeous drive from San Jose (Through Mountains & Rainforest Foliage).

Playa Negra de Los Pargos is one a a few remaining small beach towns reminiscent of Costa Rica 15 years ago! You can easily take a 30 minute walk down the beach without seeing more than a handful of people, and there are plenty of spots to put out your beach towel and tan with no one around. Interesting Insects and occasional power outages are part of Costa Rican Tropical Life, but the gorgeous beaches, amazing wildlife, beautiful trees and flowers and peacefulness more than make up for the rustic rural lifestyle.

If you want to incorporate a day of pampering, we are about 35 minutes from the amazing hillside spa of Los Eros de Altos, and local massage is available on the beach (or they will come to the cottage for you!!!) for just $30 to $40 for a full hour of relaxation bliss.

Our 1200sq ft cottage is a 2 minute walk to beach, Riverfront in Gated Community, Full kitchen, Washer & Dryer, TV with DVD, Phone, Ceiling fans in all rooms, A/C Granite & Travertine in bathrooms, Kitchen and Main Floor, along with the guarded/gated community- home also has an alarm system and a safe for worry free storage of your passports, Wildlife Viewing from 2 balconies & Floor-to-Ceiling Windows, Privacy, 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk to 5 restaurants (seafood, peruvian, pizza, continental cuisine, costa rican typical) 6 minute drive to coffee and sandwich shop with homemade icecream.
