vacation rental description

****Please Check The Availability Calendar Before Inquiring....

Our adorable 1939 Craftsman cottage is just 3 blocks from the historic Courthouse Square and Whiskey Row. This wonderful house has 9 foot ceilings, crown moldings, beadboard, original dining room and kitchen pantry built-ins, laundry room and a seasonal "morning room". Granite Creek Cottage has retained its original charm with modern amenities such as central heat and air conditioning, a very large remodeled bath with tiled shower, nice eat in kitchen with appliances including microwave and coffee maker. The Cottage sits right on Granite Creek which runs seasonally.

Each of the 2 bedrooms has a high quality queen size mattress on a 4 poster bed. (We get many compliments on the comfort of our beds). One bedroom has a lovely carved oak 4 poster and armoire that houses a cable TV. There is also a ceiling fan. The color scheme is soft greens and buttery yellows. A fifth person may be accommodated  for $10 per night extra. Ask for details.

The 2nd bedroom has a pine 4 poster draped in lace and a tall pine dresser. The colors in here are soft greens and rose. This bedroom also has a ceiling fan, and direct access to the bathroom. There is additional access to the bathroom from a short hallway off the kitchen.

Our formal dining room in Craftsman style has beadboard wainscott reminiscent of your Grandma's house. The table has seating for 6. There is a charming built in hutch for our delicate and vintage "treasures".

The living room is cozy and has a sofa and 2 swivel chairs so all can enjoy the big screen cable TV. Stained glass with a dragonfly design is in the window above the sofa. A ceiling fan also cools the room when the air conditioning is not needed.

There is lovely art in the home, some are 1940's vintage western movie posters, others are watercolors or oil paintings. Each room holds something special.
A patio with a dining table and umbrella next to the seasonal flower garden is a great location for morning coffee, afternoon drinks or enjoying great burgers cooked on the propane grill.

Some guests may qualify for a partial rebate of their cleaning fee. Ask for details!

"Just as the heart lies within, so does the heart of our Cottage..."
The Cottage is built directly on the bank of Granite Creek so the back alley serves as the 'street". You can see the green creek banks in one of our photos.
Granite Creek Cottage is in a mixed bag neighborhood as is typical of the oldest areas in Prescott. These are small older homes, businesses, apartments, and small trailer parks next door and across the alley. Our neighbors are quiet, many are elderly and retired folks. We appreciate quiet and considerate guests. The Cottage, its amenties and proximity to the Plaza, shops, and restaurants just can't be beat.

Guest comment 2/04/09:
"Your cottage is wonderful and we are truly enjoying it, for it is a home away from home. Know that we have grown very attached to your lovely cottage and leaving it will bring sadness."
